Can I get a number?

Looks like I'm way behind entering this thread. I play upright bass, and I play fretless bass, although I currently am without one. Hope to fix that in the near future. Great threads.

I think I have become a fretless convert.

RedsFan75 sold me his 4-string fretless conversion and I have been having fun on it all this week. I even took it to my synagogue's all-band practice last night. I decided to the use the fretless first. The 3 songs we were learning were new to everyone, so there was going to be plenty of repeating of sections, slowing down, etc, as the singers were brought up to speed on the syncopation and rhythm of each song.

I missed having my 5th string, but I adapted. I ended up using the fretless the entire 2 hours of the practice. I guess my recent spat of practice has been paying off, because I wasn't have too many issues getting my fingers to where they belonged.

Sign me up! I am now truly a convert to your fretless ways. :hyper:

What do you all think of the Spector Spectorcore Semi-Hollowbody fretless basses...I got one about thee weeks ago and after trying a couple different sets of roundwound /flatstrings out on it, I settled on DR nickel lowriders, and now I'm thinking of holding on to it ...I can get some very"upright" sounding fretless tones from it...Peace...DAcat
