I was SERIOUSLY thinking of one of these before the "deal that could not be passed up" happened with my Lakie 44-02! Nice bass you have there and worth 2-3 X the money you paid!

Is this still being counted? Hope so!
I have two fretless basses, one I bought and the other I made myself.
The first is a Fender Squier Precision bass that I had sitting around. I hadn't bought my fretless yet, and when I did I knew it was going to be without markers, so I figured I'd rip the frets out of the bass that wasn't really all that great anyway, to get some fretless practice before going to the real fretless. Besides, I leave roundwounds on this bass, at least for now, to get that roundwound tone, while it still doesn't matter as much if it's scratched because I don't care about is as much. I can't obtain any of my own pictures at the moment, otherwise I'd post one. If I can, I will follow this up with a picture at some point.
My other, real fretless is a Warwick Corvette Standard 4 string. :hyper: I obviously favour this one over the crappy Squier, especially for it's more jazzy tone. I can post an internet picture of this one.

hey guys, well, I've bought my fist fretless like a month ago, and here are the pics...

right now i'm already GASing for a 5er fretless. I think it will be a custom from a local luthier who made my actual 5 fretted.

Here's my cheap stagg fretless. Sounds really nice, but it lacks 1 string hehe.

It took me about 4 or 5 days to complete it. Mainly because I was being kind of lazy :P

I can't remember, But I believe it has 5 thin coats of epoxy on it, And the black fretlines are just an epoxy/wenge dust mixture.

A bit of work and a lot of mess... But in the end is plays insanely nice and looks pretty good :)

I took a sound clip of me giving it the sound test, And it sounds very good. I was really surprised at how well it sounds for slapping and tapping. VERY clean sounding, But I think the Markbass rig has alot to do with it.

After this, I'm sold on wenge fretless(boards) with epoxy :)

I got the fretlines when I first purchased this bass because I hadn't had much experience with fretlesses, it makes it easier to play but I hate that it doesn't seem like im playing a fretless unless I slide.:atoz:

I want to share my kids but can't figure out how to embed an image into the post. Can anyone provide some remedial assistance on this. Seems as though I only have the option to attach a file and it comes up as an attached thumbnail.

you need to have it hosted somewhere else (photobucket, myspace, facebook) etc then paste the url in [IMG.] tags[/IMG.](without periods)

your images aren't "posted" on your computer, there not on the internet yet. The online way anyone can view them is if they are uploaded to a site. If you upload them to talkbass in an attachment they appear as the little thumbnails as you mentioned. Nowadays photo upload is free for a whole lot of storage space. Photobucket, imageshack, and snapfish are pretty popular if u just want to upload some pictures, many major netowrking sites like myspace and facebook, have this feature built in and these picutres are linkable in the same way. Hope that helps.

I would like to be a member of this fine club. I bought a Squier VMF after playing it at a few different local stores. Each time I kept on talking myself out of buying it, but once it was mine I wanted to kick myself for ever hesitating. I have 2 capable fretted axes, but the Squier has become my new primary. In short, I have seen the light!
