The Great Bass Preamp/DI Comparison

For Rocksolid, re: MLD dimensions.

Plastic Yuasa caliper says (of mine):

105mm (width l-r) including the 1mm height of two screws that protrude from the case itself (that hold the DI out socket).

104mm for the case only.

"Length" (N-S) 113mm+, including the protrusion of the jacks (input/through/output) on the "north" side.

108.5mm for the case itself.

The 113mm+ could easily be 115mm with a different set of jacks sticking out (supplier variation).

Yes, deeper than wide.

YMMV.

Trying to mimic SVT grind at home, Transboost, SV-Pre and Oracle, with LA-1A, are best friends for this ! Really dig the Oracle, it will enlight SV-Pre flavor but can sound not Ampeg-gy at all if you choose to.

I wish I still had my P-15... :rollno:
Sigh, me too. Probably the only thing that I’ve sold and immediately and for every minute since, regretted it.
Thankfully I’ve got a TT800 to play with that’s got a couple of new preamps in it. And I can finally A/B my SSDI through it and directly compare it to another Fender tone stack based pre (Boogie channel) so I’m still having a ton o fun anyway. But I’d get another P-15 in a heartbeat if I could.

What’s your thoughts on the P-15 vs. SSDI? I’m curious, although would probably stick with a P15 given the choice since I have a pedal super stack.

That’s the one piece of gear I think Josh should hire a minion to build. There is an extreme shortage of P-15s in the world!
