This seems like a great option to just have and keep in your gig bag for that rare occasion you end up somewhere that doesn't have phantom available
I carry a Radial ProDI passive DI just in case.
So yeah primarily for powering Condenser mics, but could be used to power a DI needing phantom. Considering it is as big as a DI, to be bothered using it the DI would really want to be worth bothering about, and I suppose the RNDI would be in a select few in that category.
Makes me want to research high end powered DIs that can run off your pedalboard power supply themselves.
I know a popular choice is the cioks dc7. I went head and went with the eventide powermax.
only difference I could see with the new ones is the eventide has 3 ports that are fixed at 9v 660mah. I still have 4 ports I can at 9-18v which I can use two to power my la1a.

I also run an eventide powermax. I picked one up at Sweetwater on sale for $167 new. I was planning on getting the Cioks, but I couldn't pass that deal up.
I think the only difference besides the color is the dc7 has a 24v out to run power to an additional dc4 if you need that much power, while only using one plug in to power. I believe Cioks may also make 24v power cables to run from this output to pedals requiring 24v.
with v1 you are correct.
I believe v2 has the option for 24v to connect the mini which seems to be the same as the dc4

And I now understand why the doom guys use what they use. This thing sounds great with my BEAD-bird. A+B channels. Bam. Done.
So I'm interested to know more. I recently picked up the SLO and was wondering how the LA-1A would sound with it?
I just picked up the LA1A last week so I'm still getting acquainted with it. But so far so good. I have a cali76 though I like them both the la1a is a little warmer. Pairs well with the SLO imo
I was thinking the boost feature on the LA-1A might be nice to drive the SLO a little harder on certain occasions.
Just did a "cover" of a Steel Pulse tune. Tone is all the bass and my SLO. Boosted the bass a bit, cut the treble a bit. Gain was at about 11 o'clock. Cab sim off, SLO DI to the interface, no additional processing. Felt that the SLO did the job pretty well and was easy to dial in for this. Hope you all dig it!
