If cab sims are a requirement then the SLO wins. But I prefer the sound and EQ of the Mozzy.
The SLO is capable of more breakup but it isn't as pleasing as the gain of the Mozzy in my opinion.

Thanks: I'm hoping to get one box, to send a signal as close as I can get to my WD800 (in 2 ohm mode pushing an 8ohm load, with the damping on low) the Mozz sounds in the neighborhood. The Oly sounds nice also, thanks for the insight on the gain / breakup. I could always get another CabSim pedal later.

The Pod Go is your ticket. Just bought one and it is fantastic. It DOES have a balanced out. Just need a 1/4" TRS to XLR cable. They are only a few bucks. Gives you the same signal.
It has loadable IRs. It is an audio interface and works great with Mac. Lots of high quality Helix effects.
I'm not easily impressed, especially by digital gear, but it's legit.

I'm considering it, but I don't like relying on "specialty" cables to connect (I know that they are easily obtainable, but I'd always have to be sure I have 2 with me J.I.C. , you know, Murphy's Law and all that) and has FAR more toys in it than i need, effects ETC. I love effects, but simple tone is what I use in this band.
You were quite enamoured with the Le Bass at one time; the Pod Go trumps that in real world (live full band) application?
MOST of our gigs I am the soundman and can "fix" warts on the fly, but with a soundman provided by the venue? not so much.
The LeBass is good. But I'd go with the Shift Line Olympic over the LeBass unless you need midi and overdrive.

The LeBass is a killer preamp for the money. It's cheaper than the SLO. But the SLO punches way above its weight.
My gut tells me to get the Mesa Plus but it's missing the tube juice that I've come to love with the WD800.
I can simulate that with a good Optical Compressor though.
I'm early in the research, but I feel I *may* get close to the "feel" and response of my Mesa with the LeBass and C.A.B. loaded with Mesa Subway IR's --- Too much $$ right now though

I use for my ampless rig (which is 90% of the time) the Ashdown OriginAL. It doesn't have IR but, after experimenting with them, I prefer not to have it. The Ashdown gives a really punchy sound with a very clever EQ. And the Valve channel can give you from a nice warm tone, to a full distorted. I really like mine (and sound engineers too
)
Right now ampless (90% of my gigs) means REDDI. Yep, it's big. Yep it's heavy - compared to others. Yep there's no affected thru out. Yep needs power. Yep it sounds amazing. Yep it looks pretty cool, too.
I would trust a 1/4" to XLR cable more so than a tube. Having said that, both are reliable and not sure if you would ever need a second cable or to bring a backup tube to a gig. You dont bring back up tubes to a gig, right?
I used a 1/4" to XLR with my LA-1A's "direct out" my DI and it worked great. If you want a great cable made by a TB member, contact (Dave) ExaltBass. He's made all my cables (and MANY more for others) and they are awesome.
