Sushi Box stuff is real good. The HX Stomp is pretty awesome too. I've been using the Bassman and Fullerton amp models and they have become my favorites. If you're not opposed to a multi-fx pedal, the Stomp can get into the Alembic zone and then some.

Well , now I'm looking at the Two Notes Torpedo CAB M+ as a solution

Remote software interface
Clean preamp based on a silver face
Power amp sim with changeable tubes and class
DI
Amp through
3rd party IRs
Eq
Reverb
Room
Mics

Add another pre in front since that handles the DI duties, opens up possibilities, maybe a small board, add a comp. Hmmm

That's pretty amazing. I love my REDDI. But my Nano board with a tuner (or not as the HX has one) my Rolls for my IEM's and an HX...would I miss the analog goodness of the REDDI? That clip sounded amazing.

I hear you. I thought that clip was great. Really has me confused. I'm currently using a Shiftline SLO and have the new Markbass Vintage Pre being delivered today but if I can get that tone with a Stomp plus have all the other effects available for when you want them..... well it really has me thinking about the Stomp or the Pod Go....

I have never considered a Stomp before now. I'm all analog all the time. I have tried multi-fx in the past and have not liked it. They have not had the warmth and ease-of-button-access that you can get from analog. But technology has definitely improved since I last used a Boss floor unit.

Digital stuff can definitely cop some great tones. But I think you would still miss the analog heft and weight that is added to notes from the sheer weight of the metal transformers in quality analog gear. I wonder if doing something like adding LBA 2020's to the chain with a Stomp would mitigate some of that tone and feel loss.

I think one of the big secrets of the Stomp is to try guitar amp sims for bass. There are also some good tones to be had out of the WhoWatt 100 (Hiwatt) sim and some of the "Brit JTM" models.

Another key to the Stomp is to get creative. I think a lot of people just dial up an amp and/or cab, play it in its default setting, then make a judgment.

I've been running my LA-1A into the Stomp as a replacement for the LA Studio Comp block, and I absolutely love that tone. It makes my LB-100 sound so good. Same for the Studio Tube Bass D.I. I've been very happy with the HX Stomp, and when you pair it with a nice tube comp. or tube pre (Night Owl Edison) on the front, it really gets you into that classic tube tone territory that bassists seem to appreciate so well.

I run my HX into a Lightning Boy Audio T.I. box and it really slams for FOH. I imagine that running the Stomp into the REDDI would sound ridiculously amazing.

I don't find the tube pre is needed. The Pod Go (or HX) has great tube emulation.

That is what really sold me in the Pod Go. It's a one stop shop with nothing else required. But if you want to use some other pedals, the FX loop is there and it's fully movable. You can insert the external effects anywhere.

I'm using the new Empress Bass Comp in front of my Stomp. Great compressor.
