Nickname. To be honest, I don’t even know his real name, and I’ve worked with the guy for years.I'm torn. I mean, it's great that the soundtech loved your tone. Really...It's great.
But his name is Butter? Can a soundtech with the name of "Butter" be trusted??
I'm really REALLY digging my Stomp. Damn thing is freakin' amazing. Is this your first foray into the world of processing? It is for me (with the Stomp) and I'm quite impressed.
XLR straight to FOH. The Floor has XLR outs.
With my Stomp I ran into a Radial StageBug DI and then to FOH.
I'd be quite interested to see the EQ curve results if/when you do that. I got the same vibes about the Edison when @Chace90 let me check his out a few weeks ago. Subtle but nice on it's own, but the Edison added something even more with my C4.
I'd be curious to hear what are you running for blocks and settings in your main patch? I've been digging into my Stomp quite a bit during Covid and have been quite pleased (that new Retro Reel is nice!), and am looking forward to transferring settings to my HXFX on my main board.

Why would you NOT trust a sound guy named Butter? That's a diehard roadie name if I've ever heard one! lol
Seriously though: +1 about the Stomp, obviously from my comment above. It just keeps getting better and better. If they ever manage to add an OC2 clone in there, I might just sell most of my single pedals and just pair the Stomp with my C4. (kinda kidding, but... kinda not)

With the Stomp, you can switch the outputs to line, and all you'd need would be a 1/4" to XLR. I've done a few gigs set up this way, and the sound engineers didn't complain at all.
Except one who saw it on the second day of a 2-day gig:
SE: "Oh, Line 6?" (condescendingly) "I'll get you a DI."
Me: "No problem, it's all good."
SE: "Nah, I'll get you a real DI. It'll be better."
Me: "Okay, if you think we need it. But this is the way we ran it yesterday and you didn't say anything"
SE: "..." and walked away. (And he DIDN'T get me a DI)

Yep. Quad Cortex DOA. Doesn’t deliver any sound to any of the outputs. Hopefully support comes through.
I tried it with a few different synths, including my modular rig which has three different oscillators (one is digital wavetable and the others are analog). It’s interesting to hear how different the Edison can be with each sound source. Some were worse and some were better with the Edison engaged.
Im sure you’ll keep us updated. But what a kick in the gut.
Yeah, but that 1/4-XLR cable woulda been one more thing for me to lose. I had it set to line on the output anyway, but it was easier for me to have the little StageBug mounted right on my board.

Scuba - I'm sure you're way ahead on this - but check out one of the YT videos from a guy named Paul David on the Quad Cortex. If I remember correctly - he had that issue and it related back to how the outputs were being assigned in the UI. Maybe you'll get lucky and it's that!
Bummer. I was hopeful that it was something simple. On the plus side, I've been hearing great things about Neural from a customer service perspective. Hope you get it sorted quickly.
Not to add to Scuba’s pain with the DOA Cortex. Yet some of us Luddites remain just a mite suspicious of digital sorcery. Analog stuff just works. Unless of course the 1/4” jack breaks. Which happens.

I’m reading this as I sit in the green room between sets. The entire band is digital except the drummer. Keys run off a Mac. Both guitar players on Kempers. I’m running my Pod Go. The digital modelers are really legit now.

I don’t think my guitar player will ever be convinced of Line6 quality. I debated going that route, but my chain is basically compressor and tube DI so it seems a waste for me.
The two guitarists from one of my groups were like that too...both sneered at amp modeling and mic'd up their nice tube amps and used pedalboards full of FX to supplement their various tone needs. Then they heard me playing through the Stomp a few times. Now one plays a Fractal (direct to FOH, no amps) and the other has a POD Go en route.
Then a Pod Go makes even more sense when you realize a good compressor and a tube pre costs more than a Pod Go.
It may make sense but I don’t think it can sound as good as my Empress/REDDI combo.
I have a Stomp and also a medium pedalboard full of tubes-n-stuff. The Stomp is amazing and really does get 90-95% of the way there, but it's usually also a fair amount more tweaking and fiddling and trial and error.
Can the audience tell the 5-10% difference? Probably not.
Can I tell? Usually yeah. There's just still a slight latency, and occasional "digital artifacts" that I obviously can't hear on the analog stuff. Time will tell if the portability/versatility of the Helix is enough to overcome it. Right now, I'm happy having both.
