Not a huge deal to me. The Noble that is for sale is tempting. So much money though. That would have an effected 1/4" out AND a preamp AND fit on my Nano.

The Arkham Oracle DI will check all those same boxes and for much cheaper than a Noble. Although, it would have to turn sideways to fit on a Nano.

Same!! I would use it to sweeten up my at-home practice rig and stage monitoring. Do it, A-Designs!!

I am digging my Broughton P-15 though...does the tube-sweetness trick nicely (along with my Noble, albeit differently)

Maybe instead of redoing everything, I just squish my pedals together on my Nano and add this:

Empress ParaEq MKII Deluxe Equalizer and Boost Pedal

You may not have any GAS. But you sure are not helping mine. The Oracle has been on my want-to-try list for a while.

I played my P bass work heavy "Jamerson" flats through my HX Stomp this morning at church. The thing with digital rigs is that everyone has them set up a different way. You can't really compare your results with someone else's unless you're running the same patch. But I am still just thrilled with the Line6 stuff. I used my Pod Go (which I have set up with the same settings as my Stomp) in band rehearsal yesterday and it just killed. The Pod Go sounds IDENTICAL to the HX Stomp with my preferred patch.

I drug out my Shaw Tube Injection rig and compared it. I was able to compare the Noble and the Shaw side by side and preferred the Shaw. I sold my Noble (back before they were going for double what I paid for mine). So the Shaw is very good. And folks, it's not even in the ball part. The PF-50T is great, but that HX Stomp SVT patch I am running is just amazing.

You know it sounds good with the guitar player, keyboard player, someone in the choir, the pastor, and the sound guy all tell you....unsolicited....how good it sounds.

I wish I'd have asked for a board recording. Sadly, we are a multi-campus church and only the downtown Nashville campus is streamed live. I figured out a way to "hide" my Khan DI underneath. Nothing underneath projects below the pb frame, so the regular Temple Audio rubber feet still work perfect…

The Khan DI easily attaches (pb holes align nicely) with 3mm screws. I placed rubber o-rings between the DI and pb. Mounting underneath will only work on Duo-size pb's…the slope on my Solo 18 was too steep. I also used longer 4mm screws/spacers between DC7 and pb…

I did the same thing with my RNDI when I was using Temple boards.

Killer setup I'm doing a similar concept with different gear but it seems alot of us are on the same idea of using a good tube di and seperate preamp with powerful EQ. I'm also running a two notes cab m+ with power amp simulation and it has an additional fender bassman preamp onboard then I have a Hx Fx with a few more preamps built in including a sansamp ampeg scrambler di, and darkglass b7k . I think I have finally reached tonal nirvana with my current board layout it's so versatile I'm able to tailor it to pretty much any style HiFi tones for jazz fusion funk,vintage phat tube stuff for Motown blues r&b and modern to heavy distorted death metal and fuzzed out doom don't think there is many tones left I'm missing ATM maybe a Eden and b15 but realistically I think I can get pretty close to those too. I may be good with my setup as is for a long while now but Who knows what may come next? My board has been constantly evolving since it's first iteration but I do feel it's finally getting close to the point where I don't know what else can be improved on. It's a good time to be a bass player at least as far as gear is concerned.

Currently running the recently-arrived Trickfish Trilobite with my baby board all dropped into the FX send...and it's got this depth that I think only the clean channel of the Two Notes Le Bass approached, where giant, full clean sound is concerned. And lots more, of course. This thing really opens up sonic possibilities!

Also: that baby board has my Sushi Box Particle Accelerator on it, among other things, so t00bs are in the mix! It also has a Subdecay Super Spring Theory on it at the moment as I'm playing the low guitar part to Rock Lobster on Saturday. B channel of the Trilobite is set to EQ me more guitarishly, and the spring reverb with a pick captures a little of the spirit of Ricky Wilson.

The Master volume knob gets a LOT of output...like, enough that I'd consider grinding it down to a low flathead screwdriver slot to keep it from being easily turned. I don't need to drive a power amp! That's my only issue, if one might call it that. The channel gain is noise-free, and while I haven't tested the XLR outputs, I'm optimistic based on the quality everywhere else on the pedal that it'll make a superb recording DI.

So I did a thing. Eeeesh.

I was looking at my ginormous pedalboard the other day and feeling rather disgusted with myself. The amount of money and time I have spent on this stuff is ridiculous. And I'm too old to lug this thing around. Plus, I drag this huge thing to church only to use 5 of the pedals, and maybe 1-2 others on very rare occasion. (Now, my future/pending cover band will be a different conversation, but even then I don't want to have to lug this huge thing around).

After listening to countless demos online, and obsessing over it as only I can do, I decided to give the Stomp a shot. My main chain right now ends in a digital amp sim pedal anyway, so that's really the main thing that I need it for, and then it should also give me the flexibility of adding in some great drive tones on that rare occasion that I want/need that. Not to mention the billion other things that it can do. We shall see. My signal chain will still end in my Radial JDI. Down the road I might consider upgrading to a tube DI, but that is a conversation for another time.

Now, where do I go from here? I know there are some presets you can buy, which is probably where I'll start, because I don't have the time I'd like to sit and figure this all out for myself. I will probably also need one of those midi footswitches to bank up and down. I'm way too old, tall and fat to bend over and bank it up by hand during a set. There are a ton of options there. Any other thoughts?
