The anticipation is running high over here...can’t wait for your review. I missed all the hoopla from Winter Namm 2019 and this is the first I’ve heard of the Bass Box...all the checkpoints in my head tell me I want one except for the digital aspects of it but I’m all about life in 2020 being here...except for the pandemics and no gigs.My Bass Box is in transit...might have it today. I was one of the first people on the reserve list, evidently.

I wanted to see if anyone here has a good option to easily and relatively economically add an aux in to a preamp without one?
I’m bummed I missed the Trilobite in the classifieds that sold last night and may just wait for another one to hopefully show up at a decent price but also thought the minnow would be good if I could somehow get my phone connected to it. Overall I’m looking for a high quality clean and clear preamp for practice and some live use.

Yeah I think I just need to be patient but yours was priced well and I don't know that they come around that often. Oh well I may throw some trade bait up soon to see if anyone is looking to move one.The Aux in / headphones out on the Trilobite is killer. It sounds incredibly good. You don't get that functionality with the Minnow. You could get a cheap mixing board and run xlr out of the Minnow to the mixing board and then use the Phones out on the mixing board.

Oh yeah I think I saw that somewhere along the line. If the sound quality is good that's a great option. Have you used one?

I use one regularly for practicing at home (though I think mine is the PM50s, not se). It's awesome. Sometimes the input can clip, if you send it a hot signal. But you can mitigate that easily enough. And with a 1/4" > 1/8" adapter, you can plug your phone (or other source) into the monitor input to play along to.Oh yeah I think I saw that somewhere along the line. Is the idea of rhe RNDI after a preamp pedal just to give it a little extra polish or for increased signal?I just purchased a Mint RNDI to use after my pedalboard. Going to use the Trickfish Minnow or Nordstrand Starlifter into it and then the RNDI to the FOH and IEM feed.

the RNDI ... after a preamp pedal ... add(s) some nice tonal character.
Just liked what I heard in various video demos of the RNDI. Really happy with both preamps I have using them as the main DI for the gigs I use. I just wanted to see what it would add to my signal chain as everyone that has used one after a preamp pedal says they add some nice tonal character.
I'll be keeping an eye on the classifieds to see what the RNDI shakes loose from your collection. You always have the best stuff for sale. I'm still loving the Lab compressor!![]()
