The Hello Kitty Bass Project

Crap!!!@!@

Yeah. Well…nothing stopping a friend with a scanner and color inkjet from doing one on vinyl sticker stock for you. Stick it down on a white pickguard and throw some clearcoat over it if you’re so inclined and it’s task accomplished. ;)

I’d guess somebody also sells legal stickers of Hello Kitty. Check Amazon and Google for it.

Set your bass on a stand. Smear some cat food on it. Have your cat lick it. Irritate your cat while the cat is licking up the cat food to induce the marking reflex. Then every time someone sees your bass, they will say, "Hello, Kitty!" (probably plus other expletives.)

What everyone said, $2-3 c-notes for a hot pink paint job. Farm out the HK pick guard or try it yourself.

No corporate imaginary property rights are being infringed-you are not gearing up for production of the HK Stingray after all, it's a fan appreciation tribute bass. You go girl and/or boy. This steam punk Ibanez is in a similar vein. Show pics when done or in process.

For many years, people have come up to me and complimented my bass, never my playing. When I was playing my Thumb 5 and Zon 5, i could understand that.

Over time, I have downsized to quality cheaper instruments. People still come up and ask about the bass , like it has magic powers.

The Hello Kitty personal statement is "Its not the freakin bass, its the player. Im playing a totally ridiculous pink girly bass and still killin it."

Lot of TB folks may be offended by that, but its MY statement.
