Recently bought these 2 beauties. I'm impressed by the build quality and tonal variety. Love the narrow fast necks and narrower string spacing. I'm not a slapper and play mostly fingerstyle jazz.:bassist:

I just got this a couple of days ago. 1985 Axstar with the OHSC. It's in decent shape with the exception of the neck pickup--it's dead. Not too big of a deal. I have some EMG replacements on the way.

Here's my "new" slightly battered 1985 Ibanez Roadstar II RB630, ressurected from the dead. I put a new truss rod in it, which was a job I hope to not do again for a while. It involved removing the original walnut plug and skunk stripe, making a truss rod from scratch, making a new plug and skunk stripe, and all... All that is left is to touch-up the finish, when I get around to it. After all, I had to see if it would play before going to all the trouble of touching-up the the finish, right? :D

I just put it back together last night, and installed new Fender tape wounds on it today. Been enjoying it. Its a pretty darn good bass. I need to do a few tweaks, such as shimming the neck angle and fine tuning the intonation, etc, but its playing and the truss rod works!

BTW, I was advised on this forum to pass on this bass because of the neck issues (probable broken truss rod, and it DID turn out to be broken), but I couldn't. I bought it for $40 and put a little money and too much time into it, but I have less than $70 into it now (not including my labor, $29 worth of tools, and the new strings of course).

Ive always like the look and feel of ibanez. Srx2ex1 is my first bass. As you can see i have a t.bird also. Dont like it very much. People have told me, sound wise the iceman sounds like the t.bird. Is this true? If so id rather sell my bird and get the ice. Thanks
