Same here! Dee Murray was my first big influence on bass guitar. And he still is to this day.
Not exactly…if you look at the old school country scene(new stuff I couldn’t care less about), besides uprights and Danelectro, it seems like Jazz basses were the norm…Pretty much everyone then.

Oddly enough, he used an original slab style Gibson EB-0 in his band with Midge Ure, Rich Kids, as well as on an album/tour with Iggy Pop circa 1980, plus in a short-lived band, the Spectres.
