The Infamous Band Name Thread

Just saw a marquis advertising Mario Speedwagon in Oneonta New York. Sad to see that one has already been chosen on some level!

About 20 years ago, a friend of mine played bass for a band called REO SPEED DEALER. Reo Speedwagon sued them for the name infringement, so they had to change the name to Speed Dealer. Lemmy threw him off his tour bus while touring Europe.

My old friend used to jam with the guys from Buffalo Springfield, and played drums sitting in with Charlie Byrd.

Two of his best band names were.

The Rhythm Pigmies and The Buster Heart Blues Band.

Really...

I know we're supposed to be creative and come up with horrible band names, but I was looking at rockabilia for some t-shirts and what not, and there's a surprising amount of bands with awful names selling stuff on there...

...
Alien Sex Fiend

...

I remember Alien Sex Fiend, a friend was into that band.

3 pc band: The Short Bus Quintet

I laughed at this. Out loud. Reminded me of Bob's Your Uncle. Oh Sookie...

Oh, I almost forgot...
The Abortions that Wouldn't Die
...

I always liked the bandname The Dayglo Abortions.

Fakey...

Noah Bawdy and the Shadowless High Men

Dat Singer Dint, Dis Band Did

The Silver Mullet and the Gum Runners

Inn Through the Out Doors

Indie band names can apparently be found in XIX century typography catalogs.

Though some of them are just way too indie for my tastes. Fossilized Printing Offices, OK, but Features Of The Office Towel?
