Auria's been available on the App Store for a while now. As you'd expect for a 48-channel DAW, it's not offered for your 'phone or iPod. :-)

Most recent update Dec. 7th, written by the same guys that do Drumagog, nice in-app integration with various apps and plug-ins including JamUp, etc...

I'm hoping that Mrs Rolfe blesses me with some cash, so I can pick it up after Christmas. When I get my multi-channel USB interface, I think that Auria will probably be the centrepiece of my IOS "big rig"..

The reviews say they are great but I don't know those people and don't really trust them :)

I've tried the Shure 215's and 425's (plus all the old Shures except the 5's).

Much prefer the 425's as IEM's for bass, at least for live work.

The thing about "phat" sounding buds IME, is that it's hard to hear how I sit in the mix. The 425's are far from lacking in the low end, but I suspect that the leaner midbass contributes to the outstanding clarity makes it so much easier to hear what's going on.

If you're looking for a smooth extended top end with a little extra "oomph" down low, an excellent consumer grade earbud, is the Klipsch S4. Like the 215's, I found that they masked what was going on in the low end, but they were very musical sounding, and roughly half the price of the 215's.

Ok, so Auria is iPad only. For those on iPhones and iPads, MT DAW is the way to go.

Haven't tried the SE215 or the SE 425 while plying with others, so my view is based on playing the bass alone. Now, the SE425 is a better set of IEM, but it have more of a reference tone type, while the SE215 is more bass dominant but lack clarity compares to the 425. The 425 reminds me more of the AKG K701 while the SE215 reminds me more of the BeyerDynamic DT770.
One thing is sure, the 215 are excellent IEM for their price. And the SE series have great sound isolation, better then ear plugs.

I know that the 215's are not the best in the world but a huge upgrade to what I was using because as the headphones I am using now constantly fart out even at low levels but sound fantastic throughout the rest of the freq. spectrum...but lack greatly in the bass department and also the foam surrounds on the cans are coming apart and leaving black flakes on my ears and face when I come off stage to join the rest of the congregation for the message from our pastor. It looks like I have a horrible case of burnt black dandruff that my wife and others are brushing off of me when I come to sit. :) and the isolation and greater spl and the fact that the 215's are clear (in color) is nice.

JhAudio Jh16 would be nice, but, these are quite heavy to drive and if for some reason your ear channel change you will need to remold them.
The SE535 will be my next choice unless I've played a lot of gigs etc as the SE535 gives a better balance of performance for the price.

In term of sound the Jh16 will not beat the AKG K3003

While the JH16 have several balanced armatures drivers, they suffer from the same limitation balanced armature have compares to regular driver, and the is the frequency response which is limited to 20-20000kHz.
But, as a musician the Jh16 is a better choice.... :)

I threw out the jh16's to get a reaction I would never spend that much money on something as small and fragile as a pair of in ears that is just absurd to me...... I'm sure they are good but not anything over $500 good or better than a pair that would be around $500.

To me I would think anything more than three drivers, one for bass one for mids and one for highs would be overkill.....and beyond that the sound quality would then become all in your mind, that you "think" it sounds better because you paid more....not that you would really be able to tell a difference.

There is a lot of that going on with less expensive in ear's. and with things like "burn in" time and the response changing over time. All in ears are subject to be just as good as a more expensive set. Or a more expensive set not being as good as a decent set that has had appropriate burn in time.
I got the 215's for two reasons: 1. The price :) and 2. because I would rather be able to dial back the bass a little than have to add more with eq because then it begins to distort.

You need something that reproduces more than 20-20kHz??

Guys, I made a discovery... we'll I don't know if everyone already knew this but me (not uncommon) but anyway, here it goes....

As you know, if you have a single core iOS device, like the iPhone 4 (not S) you can't run JamUp XT and MTD via AudioBus. So I was bummed out when ADB came out and I couldn't get it to work.

The whole idea of ADB was to route your signal from your input (Apogee Jam in my case), through your emulation app (JamUp XT) and into a recorder (MTD). The reasoning was that JamUp's recorder was not up to par with ATs... but recording to MTD via ADB eliminated this limitation.

Well, turns out you don't need AudioBus at all if you don't want to use it....

Just make sure that JamUp XT is set for background mode. Open JamUp XT, set your signal chain, and put JamUp in the background. Launch MultiTrack DAW, and arm a track, you can select your Jam (or other input interface). Record away!

I just tried that and it works. No longer do I have to record via the iPhone's headphone jack to an external DAW and introducing more noise into the signal.

I'm going to read the MultiTrack DAW manual and see what the various options are.

Very cool discovery!!

I'm sure Audiobus makes it easier to connect, but in some instances you really don't need it!!

I've actually been spending the day doing exactly what you used to do. I've got my signal routed through Jamup and Loopy (via Audiobus), then out to my Roland VS. I worked up a really cool drum pattern and just ran with it. Hopefully it will be complete and on my Soundcloud soon.

Does anybody know of an Android app that will simulate amps and/or record using the iRig or AmpKit Link or via a Jam through USB?

Right now, my only reason for having my iPod Touch is to use for this kind of stuff. Would be nice to use my (quad-core) Android tablet....
