Oh yeah, isn't it ? I encouraged Kevin to go artsy on the headstock if he felt like it. I said it would be a nice contrast to the euclidian body.

Took some getting used to .. finding the best strap length, and playing angle (about 45 degrees, Bill Wyman-ish). but now I am getting quite comfortable with it ... and getting the hang of 4 strings all over again !

But I still must say that my 1st two-string Krappy remains my absolute favorite musical instrument of any kind, that I have ever owned.

Yes, 1, 2, & 3 string necks. I plan to tune it B / EA / DGC. LOL! I read about the 0-string neck for a zen-like quality.

Wait to see the monstrosity I've come up with. It'll be a Krappy version combining designs from 5 of my favorite basses. (No advance sneak peeks and no hints.)

Cool. Like a (single neck) 6-string .. only sliced in three !
You getting frets or fretless ? Or a combination ? The single B string neck oughta be a blast ... maybe you'll wanna attack it with a bow sometimes. Looking forward to seeing pics.

Yes, essentially a 6-string divided among 3 necks. I'm leaning toward a combination of fretted / fretless necks. I've never tried a bow. This may provide a chance to give it a shot, of which I'm certain the result will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

No animals will be harmed during the production or playing of this bass. Only human ears will suffer as an after effect.

Hmm.... Krapfest sounds cool. But no Krap-bass, no Krap-fest. Depends on when I actually place the order & when it will be completed.

I had nearly forgotten but a long time ago I made one of those from an old Barcus Berry acoustic guitar piezo pickup, a shovel handle, a piece of 1x3, and a nylon cord. It was fun but not very practical for my gig at the time...it's still around here somewhere...I saw the shovel handle just last month.

Well, I've decided I need another Krappy for flats so I recently ordered Krappy #2 (can I say that here?). It'll be a Traveller shortscale 4 string fretted but this time with a straight headstock.

I guess if a bassist who plays a Fender can be called a Fender Bassist, a bassist that plays a Krappy can be called a Krappy Bassist.

I also have very nice basses, and my Krappy get the most gig time. It sounds great, plays very easy and it's also very nice in a rustic Americana/folk art/Rat Rod way.
