The Krappy Bassists Klub

just wanted to share a soundclip of a wonderful Japanese tune from animé, the title tune of my next album called True Light; this is a 12 string pinnacle tapper Kevin put out about 2 years ago, and I don't mind saying I love it!

http://www.reverbnation.com/tunepak/2718719

hope you enjoy it, i could only get it out of my head by working it out and it still didn't work, i still hear it when my eyes are closed and things are silent...

Damn. I want one of these now. Maybe instead of buying both a cheap bass and a cheap guitar once mine sell on the Bay, i'll instead order up a tapper. Used to have an 8-string Stick and that was pretty fun to play even though I wasn't much good.

Anybody with an 8string tap instrument from Krappy? What's the overall width and spacing?

EDIT: I'm ordering a touchstyle Krappy - sent Kevin my design this morning and am just waiting for the money to come in from my bass sale so I can get it started!

Alrighty - hit me with a member number - sent my deposit this morning and Kevin's ALREADY sent me a couple of pics - this guy is a machine! 8-string touchstyle, so I don't even know if it counts as a bass for TB purposes.

I designed the body myself for this one, so I'll include my design and then a pic from Kevin.

It's getting a walnut fretboard, mahogany wings with maple face, and a neck of walnut/maple/cherry.

My Krappy is taking shape.... Kevin took a little liberty and slimmed the body shape, and the headstock is squattier and Ritter-ier than I had intended, but all in all it's looking nice.

I've been gigging my Krappy "Travel" Bass I modded to mount on a Steinberger EUB stand exclusively since I received it a few weeks ago.

I've never had an instrument that attracted so much attention. Anybody else notice this?

Every gig several people either ask about it or just point and laugh...until they hear it speak. :)

I've played my Twig-3 in church, and at a couple of company functions (we IT geeks have a pretty hot R&B band), and it _always_ gets The Two Questions: (1) what is that thing? (2) Can I try it?

I have a friend who's an orchestral/musical theater bassist (his gigging bass is worth more than all of my cars, and his 'good' bass is worth more than my house) - he absolutely loved it and did the Will Smith "I have got to get me one 'a' these!"

Well, my second foray into Touchstyle has served only to remind me that I still can't play Touchstyle =0( So, hit me up if you might be interested in my gorgeous Krappy. I'll be posting a FS thread in the appropriate forum. I am sad, but this thing is cool and needs to be played!

Looking forward to recieving a Krappy Punk Rod mini-flyinig v fretless 2 string bass......i have been hacking up guitars for years and this is right up my alley. My last project was to de-fret my Hohner B2 Pro last year-now a nice fretless. Also made a Stever Harris clone out of an old Fernandes P-Bass. Added a chrome pickguard, BadAss II bridge, Duncan Bassline pickups and use the Rotosound SHarris strings. Cant wait to get this Krappy bass............
