My first amp was (and still is) a R4H head and R410 cab. Personally, I can understand why the masses like Mesa, Ampeg and TE etc, but what I can't understand is the amp snobbery that see on the bass forum's that I frequent.

I understand that the Richter series is SS, and there for not comparable to a tube set up, but I have to tell ya, that my rig is awesome! Not only is it tougher than a bomb shelter, but with the EQ, comp, bass, treble and limiter adjustments put into the mix, I can get huge range of solid tones from my set-up, and on top of that it can take anything I throw at it. Throw a good tube preamp in the mix and it gives you another dimension to work with.

This is a great amp at an even better price. I would have no hesitation in recommending the RB9 and RB410 to anyone.

I will definitely trying out the Nexus range when it's time to go to a tube rig.

I think Laney users need to fly the Laney flag with pride, so if you love Laney amps then post a pic on this link and I will start dishing out membership numbers! Cmarn! Get to it! :hyper: :bassist: :D

Cmon fellow Laney peoplez! I know your out there. I didn't even start this thread..... so there has to be some interest in this gear.

I'm sure there are tons of Laney users one TB, especially those who live in the UK.

I will be posting pictures of my rig shortly, so get yo shizzle on and show ya Laney rigs!!! :hyper:

My Linebacker 50 combo served my high school garage band faithfully in the '80s. Managed some school auditorium shows with that one, too. What a trooper. :p

Had a DP100 after the LB50 was stolen at Berklee my first semester. Finally interred its wretched remains this year, after mid-life GAS.

I remember them both fondly... :crying:

I have a Laney RB3 65 W combo bought new in 2008 for 210 Euros. I use it for home practice. Nice features including a built-in compressor. Very good value for money (cheapest 65 W combo, Behringer excluded).

I bought a new Laney Nexus 810 cab just a couple weeks ago. It's sounding rather wonderful after some speaker break-in time.

I'd really like to get the Nexus 400 tube head too at some point. It would be great to have an equally powered stable mate for my old 400 watt Hiwatt.

A couple years ago, I bought a Hiwatt 4x12 cab from a gentleman who owned one of the Laney amps used by Tony Iommi during Sabbath's early days. Superfuzz + Rangemaster + Laney head = Black Sabbath's early sound.
