That '66 Jazz is awesome.

Yeah, someone mentioned in the thread about comparing the prices of Musician's Friend to Pick Of The Ricks. So I googled Pick Of The Ricks and couldn't believe they had a lefty 4003 in stock. Damn pricey but who knows when Musician's Friend and similar websites will get them in - everyone of those websites has a good wait list going. Sorry dude, I just couldn't pass on the deal after debating about it a few hours.

Is this union still accepting members? I'm a lefty guitar player who's just started venturing into the world of bass guitar playing. My sole bass is an SX SPJ-62, but we get along pretty well now since I got her some new strings and gave her a proper setup. I have to admit that I'm liking this 4 stringer a lot more than I would have ever thought. I mostly bought it on a whim, but I'm reaching for it now as often as any of my guitars.

I'm also spending a lot more time in this forum than any of the guitar forums I used to frequent. There is a lot of great information and sharing and I get a true sense of community here - haven't found that as much in the other forums. Hopefully I'll be actually be contributing at some point instead of just lurking and learning.

So it was you! Damn you!!!! :)

If you don't mind, how much was it new? I'm guessing between $2000 and $2300.

You're right, it was ~$2200 factoring in setup and shipping. I remember seeing them going for that much on ebay this year and thought it was too much. But they kept getting sold every time so I figured demand had made the price go up. I think MF and similar websites have them priced around $1500-$1900(?). I don't think I'll be lucky enough to get one through them anytime soon though.

I don't think you can find one cheaper than $2K. The list price now is $2359.

All the basses that come close to the Rickenbacker sound (Gibson Ripper, etc...) were never made as a lefty. I love my G&L P-bass, but I want to try a smaller neck.

My apologies to those who want to be members... I've been really busy and haven't had a chance to update the list. :o

I need to appoint an honorary "VP" for this club. Anyone up to the task?

I'll be handling this current backlog of member requests, but in the future, it'd be cool to have a cohort. :)

Too busy in the effects forum, eh? :D

:p

Actually, with law school and a recent surge of gigs, I really wasn't on much at all, except for the occasional dabble in the Effects forum.

This month, things are calm (excluding law classes). But I know my time will be severely limited on a periodic basis, so me being the only club manager would probably be a bad thing. There are more of us than the musician world is really aware of. :D

Well, if you need any help with keeping the #'s rolling, let me know what I can do.
