The Lefty Union... Revived!

This is my 3 week old carbon blue pearl HH bongo. Nothing compares, NOTHING. It absolutely demolishes all of my other basses, on all fronts. It plays like butter. The range of tones I can pull are endless, and the extremes of the tones are VERY EXTREME. It also smells great :D (better than new car smell). Let me add that carbon blue is impossible to capture in a camera. It is more of a subtle color, more muted while somehow maintaining the brilliance seen in photos... impossible to describe. I was worried about the color before it arrived but was soooo happy when I first laid eyes on it. :hyper: I'm very satisfied with my choice. Better than I had ever dreamed (and I spent a lot of time looking for examples of carbon blue everywhere) As you can see in the 4th pic the bass makes me a little goofy. Les Claypool and Geddy Lee should wake up and smell the bongo!:bassist:

You can get any configuration. Humbucker + Single Coil at neck, HH or H at bridge (like classic stingray). Infact MusicMan offers all of their basses now with any configuration, including stingrays and sterlings, even for us leftys. Bongos are the coolest though IMHO the 18v Preamp is unbeatable. MASSIVE. + bongos are the only ones with a knob that lets you sweep between the H coils rather than a switch like the other models. Plus I think it should be ok for the bass world to step into the 21st century with bass designs that aren't stuck in the 50s and 60s.

Sorry to be off-topic here, but I tried Bongos recently, and I didn't like them much. The ergonomics are great and the playability is awesome, but I thought the sound was too "electronic." No woodyness whatsoever. To me, bass sound starts with the wood. The electronics should be just there to enhance the sound, not to make the sound.

Nice basses overall, though, especially in the $1500 range where lefties are so hard to find.

With all due respect - not according to the Ernie ball rep I spoke to -not every electronic configuration is avaialbe nor is the Piezo bridge . I already ranted on about this in another post .After ten years of guitar playing -I just bought my first bass an LTD Ernie Ball Bongo HH four string in Blue Dawn finish and the righties get the special blue taco case -BUT its not available for the left-handed version although the case color was designed for this particular color bass in 07..Lefties are second class citizens but I have a plan.............only slightly twisted and illegal . :ninja: If we hack the right arm off all the worlds right-handed bass players suddenly we lefties are in huge demand and the shoppes begin stocking huge supplies of left-handded basses and guitars..
whad a ya think ?
yea-right -like you haven't already thought of this!!! Gotta go -peter gabriel is on the phone -he needs me tonight ...:bassist:

I think you miss understood me... the original question was about the availability of the HH configuration... I was only pointing out that the HH configuration is available for all of their models (stingrays, sterlings, and bongos) and all of these for lefties... I wasnt saying they have all things under the sun available for us.. I'm not surprised about the piezos, and i know that they also dont offer leftys for the 30th stingray, which sucks cuz that bass looks rad:crying: , and also stealth bongos arent available:crying: . We are the bastards of the world and i like your idea about the hacking off of righty limbs hhhhhmmmm wheres my meat cleaver:D ;)

Lefty playing right handed bass here (when I went to purchase my first bass, all the lefty models at the store were way beyond my budget :( ) Can't help but wonder though if playing, to quote another poster, "the way God intended" would have made a better player..? Now, I fell like I have way to much gear to make the switch.

Oh, yeah, and I'd love to join this club of fine gentlemen(/women?).
