The LGBT Bass Players Club!

Might help if you concentrated less on the "put to death" line in the Bible and concentrate more on the "judge not lest ye be judged" part ;) There are so many capital offenses in the Bible that are just plain stupid that I don't know why you'd take them seriously these days. Also, try to remember that the Bible was written by men trying to control the population's behavior through intimidation of the afterlife. And these people who try to call gay people out on their behavior referencing the Bible have plenty of skeletons in the closets of their own lives, so how can you even take them seriously for 5 minutes? I always say "Jesus is great...his followers, not so much sometimes."

Hi JimmyM,

I couldn't agree with you more. However, programming starting probably before I can remember is hard to undo. I also am/was under a lot of pressure from former peer groups and to a certain extent by my family. Thanks goodness for a loving brother an in-laws as well as a totally awesome father.

It took time to get this far. And I am very happy with the results. I'm also thankful for a new social group who accepts me for who I am: a sensitive but slightly butch gay gay gay gay man. :D Let the bass playing commence. :bassist::bassist::bassist:

I'm glad to see there are so many of us here. Here's to hoping the SCOTUS does its job and makes the right decision on DOMA. I am a proud American but the fact we are still struggling to have our equality recognized is appalling.

I've been meaning to post this here:

Myself and the rest of The Nasty Habits are the headlining band 6/29 for Seattle's Pride weekend.
It's an outdoor event with the main stage occupying a major street intersection - we're pretty pumped :D

I went to a friend's party yesterday, It was mostly people from my (very religious) high school. I actually had fun, the most fun was when the other girls had to run to someone's house and it was just me and the guys talking about movies (versus when it was just girls around and the conversation automatically turned to boys; I'm asexual so blah subject). I always feel so off after co-ed parties, sometimes I wonder if I'm genderqueer.

Sorry if this is off subject...

Wow.... so cool to know theres a club for this too!

Just cool to see there's good lot of s represented here in the forums and whatnot.

Been closeted most my life til about 2 or 3 years ago. Had a near death experience (pulmonary embolism) and was already kinda struggling with my self and where I was in life. Was the kick in the ass I needed. And after some big changes and hard (namely, explaining this to my girlfriend of 8+ years whom I also shared a mortgage with... along with the fallout from all that) I'm finally living how I want to live. In fact, my partner just moved in with me a couple of months ago. Been together since April. He's a musician, and a fat, scruffy, metal dude like myself, which s probably why we work so well together, heh

That's METAL! Congrats :bassist:

So what kind of music do you guys like? I'm approaching the big 4-0 and amd finding myself turning into my parents. I don't get most of the current music (at least the popular stuff) and find it really hard to find/get into any new bands. Stuck on a lot of 90's metal/rock as well as classic rock. Weezer, Dead Horse, Metallica, Dexys Midnight Runners, 80s, Sabbath, Grand Funk, etc...
