The lightest bass in the world?

I seriously would not mind owning this bass. It would really be great for travel.

Very interesting. And great sounding. I wonder how much weight would be added with a medium- or long-scale neck. And I wonder how much weight would be removed if Fender, for example, used the "monkey grip" on their instruments, especially if it ran the entire length of the bass side edge.

I have those strings on my passive electronics Dean Playmate, and they are great. But the last ones I ordered had defects in the winding and the replacements had the same. I do not know if Savarez has got that sorted out yet.

I played that particular Stambaugh bass at a TB GTG, it is certainly freakishly light. I loved the playability and sound too.

I played that particular Stambaugh bass at a TB GTG, it is certainly freakishly light. I loved the playability and sound too.

That lacks any surface area to rest your plucking forearm. I don't see how that would be playable. Looks like a Klingon battle axe. Light weight isn't everything. On the other hand, I love the finger board.

We are all so different. I come over the body about 3 inches to the right of where your forearm is. I always have to be careful not to rest my forearm too much on the body or I load up the strap. I also think I hang the bass a bit lower, but not too much.

Here’s the lightest ones in the house. I also have a 6.5 lbs Sugar Pine Warmoth 32”. That is incredible.
The blue one is a History mini J 27” and a Kala.

Chris brought several really nice ones to the GTG I mentioned, the heavily cut out one was one of his own IIRC. I dig how he does so many widely varied styles. Super nice guy too.
