I have owned all the Shuttle and Shuttlemax heads at one time or another. My favorite head was the Shuttle 6.2, but since I use two 4 ohm cabs, the Shuttlemax 12.2 is my current Genz Benz head. I gather not too many of them were made, and I hardly ever see them talked about here on TB. Any of you Shuttlemax 12 users out there, let's start a group !

Just curious, do you ever run both channels on the 12.0 ? Wondering how people set the EQ's and gain structure when the " Blend " is engaged.

I own a Shuttle Max 9.2 and usually use the Tube channel and nearly always set it flat and it sounds fantastic through a pair of Aguilar GS112's. I use that with electric bass. It is kind of comical to have all those EQ options available and not need any of them. Occasionally a room will require a small EQ adjustment but most of the times all those knobs are centered.

No, other than very brief experimentation, I never bothered with the Blend feature much at all - I pretty much just used the Tube channel... I did use the SS channel one time for an opener - I let the opener's bassist use my rig, then let him use the SS channel however he wanted, so none of my settings on the Tube channel were disturbed...

Truthfully, I haven't used the Shuttlemax 12.0 all that much since I got it, but am definitely keeping it... I've used the Streamliner 900 more than all my other amps combined since I got it, though - it's been my main gigging amp all those years, despite having other excellent choices available...

While it's sad we lost GB, every silver lining has a dark cloud. Now we have two solid companies that the sharp engineers are designing for.

I usually use one or the other (on my GBE 1200) but I went through a phase of blending them, using mostly the FET side and using the tube side to dial in some grit in the mids-to-treble (like 80-90% FET, remainder tube, sometimes with the lows cut on the tube side and boosted a bit on the bass side). That can be a finicky way to dial-in your sound -- and I found that if the Gain/feel were dialed in very differently on the channels, I'd sometimes have the sensation, when playing them together, of playing two different bass sounds, rather than one integrated sound -- but some cool results were obtainable.

Very recently, I've started to mess around with that approach again and I like the results I've gotten. The EQ, being identical between the two channels, is still fairly predictable (though changing the balance between the channels can have interesting results - not necessarily bad -- if they're EQed differently)... you can control things in interesting ways using the same EQ band on one channel vs. another.

I've also given one channel to another bassist, if he was playing my rig, and reserved the remaining one for myself.

I forget what tube I have in there at the moment, but it rolls the top end off a bit compared to some (and definitely compared to the FET side), which can be nice in some situations and through some cabs.

Thanks for your thoughts. I notice a bit of a difference in overall volume when using both channels, namely, it sort of kicks it in the ass, without touching a knob. I've toyed with cutting some freqs with one channel, and boosting some freqs on the other, but find myself playing the knob twirling game too much. Since I pretty much am a high bass - low mid player, I will give a nudge in those areas with the two channels, but otherwise, I'm just using the blend for mostly a fuller sound. I am setting the Gains and Volumes pretty much the same for both channels, typically higher in the Gain, and lower in the Volume controls. Master usually depends on the room, but usually, around 10 - 11 o'clock area. Of course, this changes when I go from one cab to two.

I just purchased a Genzler MG350 and will mount it in the cradle of my Genz Benz 12T
So does that make it a Genzler MG350-12T combo?

Pretty sure that the channels on the 12.0 and GBE 1200 are additive when you combine them. @agedhorse can confirm if that's the case.

Correct, they sum when placed in the "channel mix" mode.

I have been enjoying the thread and wanted to chime in and give my thx and appreciation to the forum and Jeff.
After following the forum and advise from TB’ers I pulled the trigger five years ago on a SM9.2 and one Uber Quad...
That setup suited my needs for a portable rig but I soon found I wanted to match up some Uber’s to a 2 ohm load on my SVT. Then came one more quad and the two Uber 115’s.
The four Uber’s are absolutely insane when run together...
Definitely a rig that deserves a festival stage...
I’m currently working on an album and with a group where I double up on keys, acoustic guitar and midi controller that drives my synth moog vst.
I typically run my keys and guitar through some QSC’s and my bass vst synths through the SM 9.2 or my Mesa to one Uber Quad and one Uber 115... my bass guitars run through the SVT and and the other two Ubers.

Love these cabs tremendously and lean on the 115’s if I’m only playing bass quitar. They’ve become my favorite cab specially after years of playing through Mesa 215’s.
