The Mac Daddy Genz Benz Thread

The Mac Daddy Genz Benz Thread

Lol, I had no Idea what the slang term 'Mac Daddy' meant, so I looked it up on the Urban Dictionary and thought I'd share it's meaning for any of you old farts like me that were kinda wondering...

mac daddy
"Mac Daddy" or Mack Daddy, is a term used to describe a man with an unusual power over women, and is derived from the French and later Louisiana Creole patois term "maqereau", which means "pimp". Adding "daddy" makes it mean "top pimp". The '70's black-exploitation movie "The Mack", a dramatization of the life of a street pimp, furthered the popularity of the term in urban America. This use of "mac" is quite different from the Scottish/Gaelic term "mac" (son of) used to address an unknown man.

Well
Right now it is resting in it, but the manual says if I flip the ohm switch to 2.67 I can run 1 8ohm and 1 4ohm together and I will try that and post the results
Duke
Are the cabs not 8 Ohms, each? If one is 4 Ohms, as you likely know, it will get twice the power of the other cab. Be careful.

Pimp Daddy Genz Benz.

Unfortunately they is gone.

I moved on.
I did own the Shuttle 12.0, two 9.0, and Streamliner 900 all were cool amps.
My favorite was the Shuttle 9.0 unfortunately it developed issues with the connector at the preamp tube and it went away to the old amps home.

Too bad, it's totally repairable under the flat rate service program. (Currently $75 plus return shipping)

ALL of the parts are still in stock for the Shuttle's, ShuttleMax's Streamliners and Contours.

The amps manual states that one 4 and one 8 will work at 2.67 ohms
Duke
Yeah, the amp will be fine - no problem there. And the cabs should be, too, at sensible volumes. If you do push them (and the amp), though, the little B1 will potentially get about 240 Watts while the Genz cab gets about 120. Maybe they'll be fine and maybe you'll like the sound -- just something to be aware of.

(This is with hooking the cabs up in parallel, which is the usual way of doing it. If you hook them up in series, as I recently learned, the situation will be the reverse, with the 8 Ohm cab -- 12 T in this case -- getting twice the power. This would require a special cable, though. @agedhorse, correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.)

For what it's worth:

150 Watts sine wave @ 30.87 Hz
Sensitivity: 90 dB 1W/1M
Impedance: Available in 4 or 8 ohms

In any case, congrats on putting together a cool little combo. I hope it works out great for you!

Can you elaborate on the "flat rate service program," Andy? I don't think I was aware of this (though I knew that people could send stuff to you for work). My GBE 1200 is still running strong.

Anybody can PM me for the info. I continue to offer this program with support and encouragement from the brand's prior and current owners. Both Fender and KMC/JAM have always supported doing the right thing by the custumer in spite of shutting the brand down.

I do have most parts in stock as well, for products going back ~20 years.

Big, big tip of the hat, Andy. Thanks.
