New to whole user names thing, I went with a statement rather than a moniker.
STYLE If you are dedicated and devoted to playing a style or type of music, even if it is Country/Western or something else that I don't particularly appreciate OVER SHOW is acceptable over just being flashy, or showy, or having great gear and can't play a lick.
Basically I was clueless - Great website, great info, lots of laughs.

Wow, that was an awesome post. I can't believe I forget about it. I'm just amazed at how great I am and how great that post was. This one isn't as good but that's OK.

This nickname was given to me by a keyboardist friend of mine I played jazz with for many years. He taught me a lot of what I know about jazz. Plus my name is Donnie and I could stand to lose a few pounds
I'm originally from NJ but moved to NH for a while. When I came back to Jersey we bought a home in Point Pleasant, an area I was totally unfamiliar with. Started playing with new cats that I didn't know and they referred to me as "the bass player from Point Pleasant", which eventually became a nickname they all use .... The majority of the guys I work with now all call me PointBass ... 
I took the name from a Steely Dan song I like, that has sort of bittersweet lyrics:

They got a name for the winners in the world
I want a name when I lose
They call Alabama the Crimson Tide
Call me Deacon Blues
In some odd ways I recognize myself in some of the lyrics.

"line6", the company, plus "man", the male gender.
