Hello, I am a proud Lull owner as well. This babe has been around the block, or so I've been told. I got it used (swapped for a Roscoe Century Standard) and was told it was originally a NAMM bass. I have 3 pickguards but prefer the black one.

just making it official, my 5th Mike Lull bass, this one from nostatic, who took very good care of it.

Finally had some time for pics today, and the sun didn't come out until later in the day. Oh well.

diggin the color most of all, and the fact that this bass is under 8 lbs (7 lbs 17 oz on my digital scale), phenomenal.

using this bass as a test for new (to me) srings, the D'addario even tension nickel rounds. They feel and sound good so far, but I don't really notice any more or less volume on the G and D strings.

Nice bass!, and actually, the sun not coming out did you a favor. Disperse light is WAY better to shoot in.

You'd have to route the body for that. No thanks. I just replaced mine with the hex and it was an easy direct replacement.

So the existing slot isn't large enough, I take it. I also wondered if the spoke wheel would protrude enough to reach past the fretboard overhang. Anyway, the hex seems like the logical way to go, although I'm going to see if I can find an offset screwdriver that will work.

True, and definitely. Honestly, the hex replacement is totally drop-in, cheap, and works great. And you can use the Fender ball-hex t-handle tool to adjust your neck without damaging the existing slot at all... even with a regular allen tool it's fine, but the t-handle just makes it so much easier.

Anyway, I converted mine and as much as adjusting the truss rod on a Lull shouldn't need to be a super regular thing, it works great for me.
