Pretty sure that's due to the Sadowskys having 19mm spacing, and the Lulls having 18mm spacing.
And of course, neck profile.

Did you own this one before? Do you know if it's chambered or not?
I'm guessing at almost 9 lbs it's not.
I always avoided T-Birds because of the strap button placement - ie; Gibson, Guild, Hofner, etc.
But Mike's genius is on full display with his deconstructed T-Bird replica pickups in a P body.
This passive PT4 makes my passive jazz basses sound a bit anemic now - but I'm OK with that

I had one like it, with a P-shaped pickguard. I think yours was the inspiration for mine, which I spec'd out in 2016. Much like that one.
I've got a sister bass to your PT4. It's a mahogany JT4. It was my first Lull bass (have 2 vintage guitars redone by Lull) and I've since bought a P4 with. Jazz neck. Love them both. Here's the PT4. So comfortable and such a rocker.

It doesn't have that hollowed out fundamental some of the passive chambered basses I've played.
I tried a chambered ash/maple PT4 with the same set-up and it sounded....not like me
This one has that full fundamental from the 5th fret down to the first - which i really dig.
But sometimes when you hit a low F with passive chambered basses, it feels like there's something missing.
This PT4 is SO much fun to play - makes me smile : )

If it's chambered and you have a stain finish, you should be able to see a little line somewhere where they glued a top on, even if it's not a fancy top.
I scoured the body for a seam but I don't see one. I did some research and I believe the body wood is African Mahogany (Khaya). Density is somewhere between alder and northern ash. It's around 3.5 lbs per BF so that's about right for being just shy of a 9 pound bass.

Just got my first Mike Lull, a T4 brown burst (pictures soon). Need some help in dating it. The serial number stamped into the back of the headstock appears to read "1557." I've emailed the company and haven't heard back yet. Anyone know how to find the year?
I sold S/N 1562 in Nov 2012, so it's probably a 2012? I'm not sure if they assign the serial number when the order goes in or once it gets done, so there's some potential slack there.
The folks at Lull should be able to tell you for sure.
I sent them an email about something as well and didn't get a reply (and actually forgot about it until right now), but if you're on fb, Spencer answers a lot of questions in the Mike Lull Owners Group
Oh, shoot. I just realized that while I sold it in late 2012, I actually received it in June 2011. Sorry for my confusion!

Just wanted to share a few pics of my new Lull TXB5 build. This project was started back about 18 months ago when I approached Mike about doing a TXB 5 string. At the time, the TXB had only been done as a 4 string and I also had numerous other unusual request, but Mike seemed really open to the idea. Some months into the project Mike's health grew worse and we all know where things went from there. Fast forward to today and it looks like the bass has finally been completed by Spencer and Tom and they should be shipping the bass out next week. Really excited by how the bass came out and I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on it. As it's one of the very last instruments Mike worked on, it's just that much more special.
FYI, the TXB5 is now a standard model!
