My 'new' 2008 M4V has pickups with cloth wire - I've had Fralins with cloth before, but wonder if the Seymour Duncan's do too?
Just asking before I lift the pups out to check the bottom.

I looked under the pups, but there is nothing there to say what they are. Guess I'll have to ask the Lull guys next week...Hey folks, I have a question please...

The default for Lull P and J basses is 4 strings have Fralin pickups, 5 strings have Duncan.
Got this about a month ago. Came to me in NEW condition. Would have posted sooner but pending gigs have had me busy. Built in 2014 and truly my best of my 4 Basses in my collection. The sound is glorious and playability is just perfect. And even though it's taken all the play time in the last couple of weeks, my M5V will be back in the field this weekend. My Fenders will return.
Nobody more surprised than me. But we're booked out almost for the whole year already.
Picked up my latest at the shop today, they have a good number of wonderful basses in stock if anyone is looking! Alder body, rw board, 7.5 lbs, Jazz-width neck.
anybody have any suggestions on what strings they use on their PJ 5s other than the stock strings, which i think are D'Addario ?
that's highly subjective thing (people and basses seem to like certain things in strings).
they are not overly expensive if you're into experimentation.
I can tell you what I like:
Sadowsky black label flats for a 5 string P/J. That's what I have on my L2500 and P5.

Great playing! Went to HS with Brian. Our band did Stairway to Heaven at talent show and he did something he had composed with like 4 different keyboards. He was crazy good back then.
Just purchased a Lull M4 bass w/ Nordstrand soap bars and pre, cant wait to take it for a spin. Seller had some sound samples that pretty much clinched the deal for me. Have always wanted to try a Lull after hearing all the high praise they get here. I'll report back.
