It’s great to see that the company is moving ahead strong. That is a rarity in this business. But he is and will remain truly missed. I’m so happy to have a M5V he built and am really wanting a P4 he built as well. I’m glad that his Basses are still available and for a price I can somewhat manage LOL.

It plays so fine and I really dig the redonkulously clear and juicy pickups.

Spencer never got back to me so I went with Tony at Pickguardian. The clear guard looks great except for the scratch I put on it in the process of making an adjustment.
oh sweet! yes I shot him an email too, and he sent me onto Pickguardian apparently they do the Lull pickguards.
Will have a look and see what I can do to sort some guards sent over to me across the pond in the UK.

Hey Gang...Here is the unedited take of the first roasted Lull in the mix.
Just wondering what strings anyone is using on their 5 string PJ passive and what sound they are getting.
I have a 5-string PJ (35", modded M5V) that I run passive. Right now it's wearing copper labella tapes as an experiment, but my go-to for a long time was EB Cobalt flats. You can hear it here:
For the last 6 years I've been using Thomastik Jazz Bass Flatwound JF345's on my Lull PJ5. Sound? Think best vintage P bass you've heard. IMO I'm close.
Picked up a new V4 at the Lull shop this week. Spencer told me they had an experimental roasted pine body in the works awhile back and I wasn't interested at all. I tried out three new builds and this one sounded so great that I had to have it. Turns out it's that pine body!
G&L did a run of pine-bodied instruments a bunch of years ago. I had several pass through the store, and I thought they sounded great. Love the pink, too!
