The Mike Lull Club Part 4

Does anyone with a Lull passive jazz run DIFFERENT PUPS than the Fralins that come stock with it? And can you tell me what you use and why?
Seymour Duncan. Because I have them in other J-style basses and absolutely love them. My bass does have a preamp, but it also has a full passive bypass mode complete with passive tone, and I do run it that way sometimes.

Lol glad you didn't hold back on your opinion of the fralins. I play a fen*** select jazz and absolutely love the pups . I'm actually considering putting those in my new Lull jazz. I'm just not digging the tone of the Fralins like I do the selects.

Bora bora headed my way

Oh brother, that was supposed to be my first Lull, I chose the bora burst finish and it was gonna have black hardware and a clear pickguard, but in the end I decided to go rear routed, no pickguard and get a different kind of blue/green burst finish. I'm glad it this beauty found a new home soon! Enjoy, and please post more pics or a video if u get the chance :)

My M5V-PJ has Mike's SD custom wound (humcanceling) PUs...love the passive tone so much, I sent it back to him last week to replace the Bart 3-band with a Bart 2-band (+ passive tone control) set up similar to Pauliebass's PJ5-24, except ptc push/pull->passive in the down position... I've read great reviews about Nordy's in his PJ's, but decided to stick with SD's that I really, really like...and not mess with having the bridge PU re-routed. Maybe Nordy's for another Lull bass down the road??? :)
