The Mike Lull Club Part 4

Is that it? Are the 2-12s more high mids?
Tell ya both the 2-12 and 4-10 together was pretty close to bliss!!
I really have to get a 4ohm neo soon! The 8-10 ampeg sounds great but really rough to carry around!

Again, you're trying to lump what you're hearing as due to the speaker size.

Whatever 2X12 cab you heard apparently was tinny, sterile, and had more high mids. That doesn't mean that all 2X12 cabs sound that way, or that all cabs with 12's in them sound that way. The sound you hear is due to the size of the cab, the porting (or lack of), internal bracing, fill material, etc. The driver size really has nothing to do with it.

I promise that the 2X12 cabs I have owned are anything but what you describe. My CN212 absolutely pounds with a hit-you-in-the-chest thump.

The necks a bit thicker then my v4 even though it's a jazz neck. But it's still all good!!
I put a set if Sadowsky flats right on it. And the A string is buzzing 4 frets up from where I am fretting everywhere!
So I never had one string buzz all over! I put the prosteels back on...no buzz....put some labella flex flats on...don't really like em but just to test it....no buzz! So I got a bum A string! Never had that happen!!

I asked for dark green metallic.....its a little lighter then I thought it would be but I would say thats pretty exactly sherwood....I dont mind I love sherwood!!!!

as for the Fralin....I dunno about the tone yet....I had the sadowsky flats on and it had that bum A string....so then I put some labella flex flats and I love the feel of them but I dont like the tone of them really...too dark....so I put my TI flats on today....and its good but it was a bit too honky....so I lowered the pick up some and it was more even.....
Todays Ps are different from my 2 70s Ps I have....the 70s Ps can get really bright!!! and theres a sweet spot in the middle of bright and dark thats just great....but todays Ps are either middy and honky or muddy....and this one is pretty much the same as my fender select P was.....like todays P bass.
between my compressor my SVT and the volume and tone I think I found a pretty good tone with it.
I am just not sure its amazing like my V4.....My V4 sounds incredible everywhere you set it!!!
Tell ya its the best feeling bass I ever had!!! I got a smaller 18mm spacing bridge...and its like my fingers go right where I want them to without thinking!!! I really really like that!
