Well, I have the Nordy singles, but I think I could get Greg to hook me up with the stock pickups
I absolutely love the stock Duncans.
I was trying to find out exactly what they are and if they were available for purchase in both 5 string and 4 string versions (I want a set for my M4V). I contacted one of the Duncan reps on TB to see if they knew anything and they said they're just the SJB-1's if single coil or STK-J1's if hum cancelling...but I'm confused because on the website they say they are custom wound.

I can and I will say the biggest differences to my ears are the mid-mids and upper mids just bit more open again imho. It's just a preference one way or another.

Thank You I appreciate that ...I'm releasing a couple of tracks before NAMM with the "Red Zen Project" I hope folks dig it.
For those doing research like me,
I did and I really like it. My ash/Rosewood M5V/PJ came with the Bart 2 band and Duncan, hc pickups which I replaced with the singles, as I was looking for a vintage tone. It was close but lacked the flexibility I need because I never know what will be at any spot I play. I put in a Mike Pope Flexcore next but removed it the next day because even in passive mode, it was too modern for me. Great preamp but it made my singles sound like hc's to me. I had a U-Retro Deluxe in the closet from a few years back (which I didn't like in my Warwick or SB5000) and decided to try it.
I put it on a jazz plate and from the first note, I knew it was a good match with this particular bass. You can tell it's a preamp but it keeps the vintage qualities in the pickups that I like. I'm familiar with the controls because I still have a M-Retro 1 in my Marcus 4 string, with the stock singles. I had a Sadowsky pre in that one before. I like the Fender vibe and with the right pickups, the Retro keeps me right there, unless I try to eq it out.

I've really enjoyed reading the educated opinons in this thread. All the different combinations of pups and pre's. My stock M4V came with Fralins and a Bart pre. For me it does everything I need in every situation. Studio, live, (with rigs and or DI). Though my only comparison at the time of purchase was a few pieces with Fralins and Aguilar pre. The only issue with my Lull has been a finicky input jack and maybe an incredibly tight battery compartment. Has anyone experienced problems with signal cut at the input?
Yeah I hear you but an "upgrade" shouldn't be necessary in a premium instrument such as a Lull. IMHO.
Very true. 2011. I've had minor issues with it since new though. My tech who fixed an issue with the passive/active switch after having the bass a few months mentioned he was a bit surprised by some of the internal parts for being a premium bass.
