The Mike Lull Club Part 4

Have any of you ever put a John East J Retro preamp in your Lull jazz? I have a passive Lull V4, and was pondering the idea of putting one in. I like the fact that I wouldn't have to make any modifications to the body (no drilling or routing). I was just wondering how you liked it, if you've put one in yours.

A good friend of mine loves those pres...He does not have it in a Lull but in another J bass, actually I think He has them in all his Js....

Standard neck woods (so its not different in that area).

I probably started talking about this to soon...and acted like a little kid...Sorry I admit it...
It will not be at NAMM but when I get closer to NAMM I will mention it.

If any of my lull brothers are interested I'm really wanting a lull jazz 5 so I just posted a P5 in classifieds- it's bad ass I'm just more a jazz or T5 guy and it hurts to see her her sitting on the bench not getting any stage time-

Hello all, please bear with me until I figure out how to change my user name, lol!
I recently got a M5V from Kevk, a great guy. I've been fortunate to have owned a few really good bases and this one's build quality is right up there and surpasses a few.
I set it up quickly and did a gig with it the day after I got it. It was actually in tune when I got it and action to low for me but with no buzz. After I hammered the place reggae style, in pj mode, through my Eden Wt1250 and 2x15 Hellborg cabs (thanks again Kev!), I ended up sending the hc Duncan's back to Mike for exchange to singles.
Should be back this week. I would love to put Fralins in it but Lindy said "he won't make 5 strings to fit my pickups" and Mike said "he won't make pickups to fit my 5ers", lol. Mike is swapping the singles and the Pj pickup at no cost!
If it doesn't work for me, I'll be looking to trade for an Adler M5V. I simply find the flat bass and treble response easier to work with, live. Great bass!
