Maybe a weird post...I've got nothing new (Lull-wise) to show off. But, I just have to say (after playing my M5 fretless for awhile tonight) Lull's are so ridiculously comfortable to play! I don't know if it's just the neck feel or what? They're just flat out comfortable to play! I find myself pulling this bass to noodle with, over anything else...and I seriously love other brands, too! Why is this the case with Lull's? What is Mike doing, that makes them so subtly addicting? PleK'ing? I usually tell people it's the neck feel, but seems more than that?
Interesting and I hope to not come off like a broken record.
Besides the obvious extremely high quality, playing ability and the added beauty of the pleKing on all of Mikes instruments...
There is something really special about the M5/JT5-24 body and neck combo... (Same body on both those models)
I don't think its just 1 thing either. It has the longer horn (which I love), more of a contour in the back, the slightly smaller body does make it cozy and the access to notes past the octave is really easy.
Who knows what the future brings, but I don't see myself ever going with any other platform for a 5 string.
