Who else can Laker fans blame beside the refs? How about the Lakers? Possible?

i don't think pau gasol guarantees anyone a trip to the finals.
all credit due to the celtics for playing good D, nothing at all against their effort. it's the fouls on the other end that astound me. if you're going to call a tight game do it on both ends or swallow the whistle and let them play. just my thoughts, enjoy the game all.
The Celtics relaxed on D with the big lead. that could come back to haunt them. The Lakers now have a lot more confidence. As far the officiating get use to it, the C's get an incredible whistle in the Garden. Although, the Lakers could have helped by being more aggressive on offense, especially the Gasol-Odom disappearing act.
The big difference is STILL the C's defense and rebounding. Even the Lakers comeback wasn't because of good D for the Lakers as much as the C's letting up. The Celtics can basically get any look they want against the Lakers, after playing the Pistons, Celtic jump-shooters are missing shots out of shock for how wide open they are. I still think the NBA finals WAS the Eastern conference finals. The Lakers will look better at home, I still anticipate the C's taking one of the next two in LA.

Of course there are never any guarantees. But that was a straight-up gift of a 19/9 guy who's had a big impact on the Lakers.
No, but he certainly gives a viable center to a team that was going to be stuck sending out Kwame Brown and Ronny Turiaf. I don't think the Lakers would still be playing if they didn't get Gasol.
Of course, it's not like Garnett wasn't gift wrapped, too.

Jeff Van Gundy is quickly becoming my favorite commentator. He is a much better commentator then coach.
Didn't he get today's player of the game? He deserved to get it. Excellent contribution from him all game long.
During a Lakers/Mavs game late in the regular season, he saw Brandon Bass lined up on the same side as Kobe during a free throw by the Lakers. Van Gundy said that Avery Johnson should switch Bass off of Bryant because Kobe is one of the best rebounders of missed free throws in the league, and that Bass wasn't experienced enough to keep Kobe from stealing the rebound off a miss. Sure enough, the shooter missed, and Bryant got the rebound. I was sold on him as a commentator right then.
Van Gundy has coached recently enough to really know players' skills and tendencies. My only gripe is that he, and Mark Jackson, seem to think the rulebook is a meaningless document.
I think the Lakers are the ideal team to play him against. He gives up a couple of inches to Radmanovic and Odom, but they're kinda soft for power forwards. He can play aggressively against them and the height difference won't be as troublesome. Needs to cut down on his fouls, though.
Anyone else out there rooting for a sweep so they do not have to hear about this series anymore? The Lakers have always been my most hated team, and I don't necessarily hate the Celts, I just am sick of the "Boston Bandwagon." To clarify, I mean those who claim that they have "loved the Sox, Pats and Celts for years," and are simply front running. For the first time in a long while a team that I like is doing it for real (Phillies), and it is far more satisfying when they have sucked for so long. Any "real" Boston fan should feel me on this...

That said - I wish it were over; but unfortunately, it is far from over.
Yeah the whole thing was a joke. Had the refs actually called fouls against Boston and allowed the Lakers to go to the line it would have been a different game.
