The Spurs great defense is beginning to show signs of age. Remember a lot of mediocre defensive teams ( Dallas) can look like good defenses in the regular season because they work at it and most teams don't. Oberto is fair, Ginnobli pretty good, Parker a liability, Duncan good, but they don't want to put him on a good player because of fouls, Bowen, good but his rep is catching up with the officials, Barry is Fair, Horry can't guard his mother, Findley can't guard his mothers mother. So the sum of the parts is far better then the parts. Against a team with a lot of weapons that's a tough call.

On offense Parker turns the ball over too much and is more effective when their pushing the ball. To stand a chance the Spurs must slow it down and start their offense from the post. But I'm not sure the "extras" on the Spurs are playoff capable anymore. Home courts have a way of turning things around. The role players always play better at home. But does anyone here see the Spurs taking one in NO?

You know I`m a Spurs fan, but as usual, I agree with your comments.

San Antonio is obviously showing signs of age and they`re having a hard time defending NO. The key factor are matchups.

- Tony Parker can`t defend Chris Paul, so Spurs gotta move a better defender to control CP. Main options are Bowen or Ginobili. That`s what happened in Game 1, but not even Bowen could stop CP, and David West became the key player.

- During 2nd game, they changed defensive strategy and were forced to leave Stojakovic alone. Result: 5 / 7 from long distance.

- Chandler is making a great job defending Duncan. He`s one of the best defensive players and a great rebounder. Rebounds were another key factor during Game 1.

- Both Duncan and Ginobili aren`t supposed to 100% healthy, so their performances are below expectations.

The series aren`t over yet, but if SA loses 1 game at home, they`re fried.

I remember Chuck from WJR, seemed like a decent guy.

Interesting Celtics-Cavs game tonight. For those of you who dread a San Antonio-Detroit final this one was more exciting then watching paint dry!:D Can Anyone beside Kevin Garnett on either of these teams make a shot? Actually the problem is while both teams are good defensive teams, both have stagnate unimaginative offenses and rely on a lot of isolation to break down the opponents defense. Unfortunately that is the one type of offense that doesn't work against good defensive teams consistently.

I was surprised Cleveland didn't try to run more to free up their shooters for better looks. And why is Ray (I never met a jump shot I didn't like ) Allen not trying to break down Wally Szerbiack off the dribble? Neither coach seems to have much imagination on offense, with Brown, I'm not surprised. This series has the makings of a seven gamer. Will either team get to a hundred, any game?:p

Well I'm pleased with the Magic. My hopes are they continue their home-game hotness and tie the series 2-2 tomorrow. And it's more than possible.

As far as the Celts Cavs series, I totally agree with Burk.
What really caught my attention was the home-stretch clutch domination laid out by the Lakers last night. Kobe showed why he's the MVP whilst Fisher and the other roleplayers did their thing.

Utah didn't play a bad game, LA just played a better game!

Pierce, Allen, and James had bad shooting games, is all. It was an ugly game, but Garnett, Rondo, and Perkins played well for the Celtics, and Big Z played a good game for the Cavs. The defense in this game was intense as well. Whoever ends up in the conference finals and the title series better be prepared for a hell of a battle. I like it. :)

Hmm, I thought the officiating was terrible. Way to wishy-washy in how they called it. People were getting hammered and not getting free throws, but in some cases somebody would get breathed on and go to the line. Either call it all the time or none of the time.

That said, the Jazz just shot their wad. Turnovers and 3 point shooting led to a Jazz win. The three kept them alive last night, it will interesting to see if they fall like that in game 4.

Lakers need to guard the perimeter better. Okur and Korver are pretty well know for being good 3 point shooters; at least put a hand in their face and get them something to think about.

Amateur night. He's no Floppy Divac.

Besides, if we're handing out awards for flops or illegal play, nobody beats Bruce Bowen.

Like a lot of veteran teams, the Spurs are having real trouble with a young athletic opponent. A big part of it is Tyson Chandler's defense. But don't forget, a similarly built Suns team (penetrate and dish PG, good outside shooters and athletic bigs) had a very good chance to take out San Antonio last year before the suspensions kicked in. As a side note, I find it interesting that Stoudamire got suspended for barely coming off the bench last year but this year Kevin Garnett shoves a referee and gets no punishment.

I think it will be a Lakers/Pistons finals (assuming Chauncey can return and be effective), but personally I'd like to see Hornets/Magic just because I think it would be the most entertaining matchup of the remaining teams.
