I can`t stand what Horry is doing.
Last year he pushed Nash out of the court and broke his nose.
Now he hits David West in his back and he had to leave the game.

It`s a pity that a player what so many rings and playoff experience uses that kinda unacceptable resources. :scowl:

For me it kinda casts a shadow on a team I used to enjoy watching (unless they're playing the Hornets).

 read the quotes from West and Scott , they both say it wasn't a cheap shot .
it was an aggressive pick , and Horry performed it as it should have been .

Horry simply stood his ground , and West fell into a well timed pick/post .
... also , he { West } was already suffering from a strained lower back .

what should Horry have done ?
backed away and let West block Parker from driving to the basket ? not likely ...

there was nothing illegal or dirty about it ...
it's was unfortunate for the Hornets , but it wasn't a dirty shot .

Horry and Bowen certainly aren't the first , or the last , players to use these tactics .
the Hornet aren't exactly Saints , either ...

I've never claimed any team I'm a fan of is saintly. Others may disagree, but I don't really feel myself a "homer" for any of "my" teams. I've lamented Chris Paul's flopping in this thread. Regardless of what anyone on the Hornets is saying, it appears to me that Horry leaned into that pick. Against the rules? Maybe not, cheap (in my opinion)? Yes. He's a better player than that.

Bowen is another story altogether. The number of shoulders and bows he throws in transition, aside from everything else he does, is pathetic.

did you read the quotes from Nash after that particular incident ?
he said yeah , it wasn't really that hard of a shot , and that he basically sold
the foul so Horry would be ejected ..
.just a little bit of flopping , no big deal ...

Horry simply arrived at the block point too late ,
and admittedly the elbow to Nash was uncalled for .
he was suspended and rightfully so ...

i respect Steve Nash above many other players ,
and at least he was a man for admitting that it wasn't really a cheap shot .

if you recall , the bloody nose Nash recieved was from a head butt
while he and Parker were diving for a loose ball .
Parker was also injured , although not as
bad as Nash ...:hmm:

dude , i'm sorry ...
my comments were not meant to be directed at you personally .

i just feel that people who think the Spurs are a dirty team need to look at their own teams first ...

maybe some see Bowen as dirty player ,
but if so , why hasn't the league also come down on O'Neil for throwing his 350 lb. elbows ,
or even West for continually pulling on Duncan's arms when Duncan goes up for a shot ?

perspective plays into this quite a bit , i suppose ...

I didn't take it personally. I don't view the Spurs as a dirty team necessarily, but Bowen IS a dirty player and the fact that the organization doesn't seem to curb this takes off a bit of the shine I used to have for them.

Not sure what you're suggesting: NKOTB sold X million records due to the public's fondness for them; the record business is most definitely not a meritocracy. Whereas Bowen & Horry earned their rings by being on championship teams. You can't attribute that kind of success to the public's taste (or ignorance).

The only undisputable facts are that Bowen & Horry do indeed have those rings.

I missed the game (it was my anniversary), but on reading Papersen's comments - and knowing he's a Spurs fan - I was prepared to be morally outraged when I watched the highlights of the game. When I saw the play, I didn't see a single thing wrong with it. Bowen's dirtiest plays, on the other hand, are the sly ones when he runs at a jump shooter and then places his foot on the floor where the shooters feet are likely to be coming down. Always manages to make it look accidental in real time, but the replays reveal the truth AFAIC. God knows how many ankle sprains he's caused by doing this. I feel this is the dirtiest kind of dirty play, kinda like going for the knees in the NFL. Funny thing is, while I hate some of the dirty stuff he gets away with, I respect the guy as a player, and even like him at times in interviews.
