Guys, I have a question here:

Benefits, pros, cons, drawbacks between 210 & 115??

I have only played trough my peavey TNT and then attached to the huge pa's of several gigs at home, in my musical circle (school& first years of college, my amp was the 'whore' even big bamds asked me kindly for a beer and the right to use it in big gigs) so I am not really sure which differences are between these configs...

Could someone enlight me? :D

Also for the guys who have already used it in a live gig:

How hard/annoying is it to change the sound/config from sound to sound??
As I have understood that there is no floor pedal... :s

I spent a long time with both the 115 and the 210 at GC today. My LMII decided to take a dump on me at a gig yesterday, so I was looking for potential new amps today. I was not planning on plugging into a combo, but decided to try these TC combos out.

Man, was I impressed!

I wanted not to like them at all because of the weight, but I can't argue with the tone! All the settings (including the dreaded "contour" mid-suck) sounded really good. I like the eq points on them, and no setting seemed too over-the-top for me. Also, they were friggin' loud! I was disappointed to see there was no ext speaker jack, but after cranking them, I don't think I'd ever need an extension speaker.

Also, the fancy-pants features (i.e. Tubetone, Spectracomp, Tweetertone, active/passive input) worked like a charm! Usually I consider stuff like that a total marketing gimmick, but all those features were amazing!

Overall, I'd give the combo a solid B+, with only the weight, and a couple other details, keeping it from getting an A+. If my LMII really has kicked the bucket, I may sell off some gear and snag one of these combos.

What do you think of the price?? 450€'s for any of the variant (115 or 210)

What do you think of the 210 and 115 differences??
More/less punch?
Brightness?

What are the most significative differences? Or pro cons if any?

Sorry to double post, cannot do a proper quote on the ipod...

What do you mean by eq points?? Do you mean that the controls have points in the potis?? That you change in a 'clac-clac' step way or are the potis normal shelving type ones?

Or do you mean by eq points the equalization frequency possibilities/ranges? :d

The price was great on either version. I liked both the 115 and the 210, but they are definitely different from one another. I thought the 115 was more 'old school' and maybe had the edge when it comes to deep booty bass. The 210 was clearer and more hi fi, and it seemed to break up faster when using the Tubetone control.

I listed the pros in my earlier post above: tone!

The cons for me would be:

1) The weight. It would need casters or a dolly or something, and stairs would really suck.
2) The aux in (for ipods and such) doesn't play the the speakers, only the headphone out jack.
3) Rat fur.

This. I like where the frequency points are centered on these combos.

Well I picked up a 210 combo this afternoon and immediately put that puppy to work! Less than an hour after purchase I had Jauqo III-X putting thru the paces at a 250 seat venue. This thing is LOUD!!!! The combo sounded killer! Sweet tone. Best $350 I spent in a good long while.

For me, the 210 had a bit more character. A bit more versatile and dare I say stronger in the low end than the 115. There was a bit more clarity in the 210.

I agree that the 210 had a real gut punch to it, and had a very tight, powerful sound. I had to go with the 115 though, because I thought it had a "smoother" sound overall (especially up top), and the 210 had a farting problem when I really pushed the volume on my low B.

BTW, Its no lightweight, but it doesn't feel like 75 lbs!

My 115 actually weighs in at 66 lbs on a shipping scale.

I agree with the overall smoothness. For whatever reason I had not thought about pushing it to an extreme when i tested it with an SR5...I think I should have. When I layed on the B slightly past mid volume it held up fine. Hopefully I didn't screw the pooch on my selection. :rolleyes:

Yeah, well that probably means that the 210 is closer to the 75 lb mark then. :rollno:
