The Official 2012 NHL Stanely Cup Finals Thread: Part II

I wouldn't mind if Philly wins tonight. I get sad as the end of the NHL gets closer.

Got my seat on the Kings bandwagon a couple weeks ago, looking good now. They may be the team peaking at the right time. Pittsburgh peaked too soon this season.

What was that all about Hartnell? Hitting Zubrus well after he scored?

Hey...wait a second. Where are my Flyer buddies? We always chat during games.

I couldn't take the NBC crew any more, so I have been listening to the audio feed using NHL Game Center on my iPad while I watch the game. However, the audio stream is a couple of minutes behind real time, so I had to pause the game on the DVR to get it to sync up. When I'm not watching in real time, I avoid this thread so I don't read any spoilers.

Hey, that's cool. You sound like someone who would be interested in a Wizard of Oz/Dark Side of the Moon type of experience......

Question, Is NJ the Detroit of the east? The most dominant team over the last twenty or so years?

They've won three cups on the last twenty years (the Wings four). They've been in the finals 5 times (Wings six). Has there been a more dominant and consistent team in the East over that period? I know they've missed the playoffs a couple of times. The other constant is Brodeur for 20 years, Lidstrom played 21 for the Wings (they've been in the playoffs all 21 of Nicks seasons).

I could care less about the Kings, my Devils just beat the Cryers and are up 3-1. Lord have mercy!!!!! Btw, the Kings are known chokers, year after year if they do get in a position to move up, they choke it, no cups, no glory. DEVILS vs. Coyotes final.

I'm guessing you don't follow hockey all that closely. Call it a hunch...

I rarely watch the games live. I record them, then start watching them about an hour and a half after it starts. That way I can zip through commercials and intermissions. Takes about an hour and a half to watch the game.

Stick a fork in the Flyers once again. Yet another in a long line of disappointments dating back to 1976. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.

Yeah, I know it's technically not over yet. But they look like a minor league team playing an NHL team in this series. The Devils are simply the better team in this series. They look quicker, passes are crisper, and their checking is more effective. If they finish off the Flyers (as I suspect they will), I hope they look this strong if they end up playing the Rangers. Oddly enough, although I'm a Flyers fan, I've never really disliked the Devils like I do the Rangers.

I understand the frustration this morning from Flyer fans, but it's not all that bad. No matter what comes of the series with New Jersey, youn'z took it to the Pens and beat them up good. It's not a SC I realize, but the Flyers reign supreme in PA.
