At about 8:21 left in the first period, Grossmann goes back for the puck, he moves it up the boards and Kennedy comes right at him with what looks like both fists in front, he nails him right in the head. Grossmann staggers immediately, then he is seen flexing his jaw on the bench after the play.

Interestingly, there is a face off at the blueline, left side, just before the hit. Kennedy skates up to Malkin, then switches spots with Letang (so, he basically moves back further and a bit toward Grossmann's (the right, or "open") side of the ice). Malkin wins the faceoff to the back left, Kennedy gets a "running start" on the dump in by the dman and crushes Grossmann in the head after he retrieves it.

Malkin threw a flying elbow shoulder at Grossman's head near the 16:00 mark, knocking him woozy in the corner. It wasn't a bodycheck - it shouldn't count as a hit - all he connected with was Grossman's head.

The Pens targeted the Flyers #1 defenseman and it didn't get picked up by the refs. Grossman wound up playing only 8:54 when he normally plays close to 20:00.

I really don't know what to think in response to this,...cause if I'm honest,...I can't be bothered to rewatch that blowout.

My knee jerk reaction is to call the Pens cheap, chicken **** and dirty. They are playing like boys and if they go on to win this series; I hope that which ever team they face destroys them.

I hope that they aren't intentionally trying to hurt Flyer players. I hesitate to call Grossmann a number 1 Blueliner. He's definitely steadied the defense since his arrival from I really don't know what to think cause I can't be bothered to rewatch that game.

Again this is purely going off Mkandolf's response and without seeing it with my own two eyes I'm hard pressed to have a firm opinion.

I do know that I've never liked Tyler Kennedy.

The more players we have hurt, the closer we get to calling up jody shelly. Lol. Him and ronaldo on the ice and all hells going to break loose. I kinda hope it happens since the nhl is not going to protect these guys, lets see if this stuff stops after it's returned violently.

Sorry but it's really starting to feel like the pens are the new orleans saints of hockey. Neils headhunting and rewatching those hits on grossmen. It's bogus. I don't know if it's true but it feels that way. If it's true it's........

On a side note it was nice to see brodeur get a 24th playoff shutout. New record passing roy. Never liked him and jersey but respect him alot.

LOL you make it sound like the Flyers are innocent angels. And to compare one player losing his composure to an entire NFL defense being paid to injure players is low. I'm sure if you watched Flyer players the same as how you watch the Pens you'd see they do the same thing. This is getting pathetic.

Come on Flyer fans. I figured you guys were better than this. The Saints of the NHL? Come on now. I realize you're pissed about losing so bad the other day, but you're one win away from sending the Pens home for the year.

It's funny how Flyer fans around the country flocked in droves to message boards the world over to decry the foul play from the Pens in game three, yet the Flyers resorted to it themselves in game four. Had it not been for the quick whistles from the refs, I think we would have had game three all over again with the roles reversed. I really hope you guys are right and the Flyers ignore Neal tonight and focus on winning, but I doubt it.

Then how come our players are hurt yours are suspended? Roles never reversed, no one got cross checked in the neck, sidney never got headhunted. I don't really care the outcome tonight honestly. I just want agood game called straight and have these guys play it out. Not on powerplays the whole night and actually let the refs fade in the back ground. I would love that, but i would be really surprised. The one thing I know is both of our teams look bad to the league and who ever moves on will lose with this goaltending and defense. Not to mention how beat up these teams are.

I'm sorry, did you already forget about Rinaldo punching someone in the head who has a history of concussions? There is plenty of dirty stuff going on. It is the Pens Flyers. I wish you would just stop whining about it.

I see Bryzgalov may not even be dressed tonight because of a hip injury. Clearly someone took a run at him too.

It's all good buddy. You are very passionate about you team and hockey, and I totally admire that. You have some legitimate gripes about the Pens play in game three, I agree with you there. I wanted Neal gone for the series at least.

If the Pens lose tonight, so be it. They played poorly for three straight games, so they pretty much deserve to lose the series. Bryzgalov is better than he showed in game four, so I honestly hope he redeems himself tonight. Maybe just let in one goal from Staal, while Fleury pitches a shutout. :)

What gives? Me and Lazarus.Bird are the only Pens guys posting here, and we didn't cry about how the Pens were treated by the NHL or defend any of their actions, but you guys came rolling in here talking all kinds of crap about Pens fans.

I will say you guys here are definitely very cool Flyer fans. So I'll remove you from that "lame Flyer fans" basket. :) I like all youn'z guys, really do. No, I haven't ventured out to any other hockey message boards yet. I'm skeered to.
