Hoping this is the right spot to ask this question.........
Been a long time (50+ years) Ampeg user......and have recently returned to the fold after a couple of years away!
In the never ending quest for that all elusive "tone", I decided to branch out and try some of the newer hardware on the market. Over the last two years, I gone the Rumble route (Rumble 100, 200, 500) TC Electronics BG250-112 and the BG250-210 along with a couple of the GC house brand Acoustic amps. Not a one of them even comes close to Ampeg......IMHO of course.
After all of this experimenting, I ended up back where I started.......with an Ampeg. Specifically, the BA210v2. Great amp.....love it. It's got that Ampeg sound.....deep and rich!
Now my dilemma is what extension cab to add. Can't decide if I want to add a 1x15 or a 2x10 enclosure so, I'm hoping you guys might have some suggestions or recommendations??????

There's a school of thought here on TB that says you shouldn't mix speaker sizes, so extensions should be the same size and number as the other cab. There's also another school of thought that says mixing speaker sizes for cabinets that are explicitly designed to work together is fine.
Personally, I run a PF-800 with a PF-115 and a PF-210 and it sounds great. I did avoid mixing ported and non-ported PF cabs, and I'd heard that mixing a 115 and a 410 is really bad, so I avoided that as well.
I recommend a second BA210 - it doesn't cost much more then an ext cab - and you'll have perfectly matched speakers and a spare amp on hand should something fail.
Well, for backup, I have a PF500 with a pair of Fender Rumble 12 Neo cabinets (nice setup) which is why I was thinking about either a 2x10 or a 1x15 extension.

Used this on a gig for the first time tonight and really liked it. Solid Ampeg tone. Eq flat and it sounds amazing. I was a bit worried about it conking out on me having read a lot of reports about reliability, but so far so good!
Sounds great flat - FWIW, for gigs with drums, I usually turn the bass to 11 o'clock, the mid frequency selector on #2, and the midrange at 1 o'clock. Just kill a little of the bass and boost the low mids a touch. treble at noon, gain just a bit down from where the red light gets triggered on high attacks (Like Dino's videos mention). A solid sound guy at one of our gigs when I first got it walked me through that setting, said that's his 'go to' for the PF-500/800s. Without drums I'll leave the bass at noon but everything is the same...

Here is my new 212av, I actually got it a couple weeks ago, but my SVT needed to be fixed. Now that that's out of the way I am really enjoying how it sounds through this thing!! Definitely a great alternative to the 810e if you want something that's easier to transport.
- As an older player I'm pretty happy with my current SVT 3pro 2x112AV rig. it's great to have the option of either a vertical or horizontal speaker set up as well as 1 or 2 bins and not having to carry much more than 20kgs at once.

I'm going back to using a V-4B perched on top of my SVT-410HLF. I'll be picking it up tomorrow morning.
The V-4B perched on top of my SVT-212AV. This is a pounding setup. The finest sound I've had in a long time. Bar none!

I'm looking for recommendations. I currently have a BA 108 (v1 I believe, with the controls on top) and a Rumble 100c v3. I was all set to get a rumble 200c but then....
I took my lil BA to practice. That juicy, crunchy, gritty, gooey ampeg goodness! So it turned me upside down and I'm wondering what options are out there that might tick my boxes.
Here's what im looking for:
- i prefer combos, but not married to the idea.
- ~200w. (Thinking a 350 head might do me well) I would like it to be a step up, power-wise, from my 100c.
- I think 1-15, but that's not set in stone either.
- <$500 budget. Happy/prefer to buy used.
- light! I got real addicted to the rumble. I noticed the BA 115HP is 80 lbs, yikes! Am I correct that Ampeg has not jumped on the lightweight cab bandwagon yet? Has any one has success pairing ampeg head w/ another brand neo cab and maintain the "ampeg" sound?
- open to those scr di preamps too, if anyone can vouch that they'd make a rumble more "ampeggy"

Don't go for "Ampeggy", go for Ampeg.
The BA 115-V2 combo might do it for you, but with 150 watts you could be just managing it when playing in a not too loud band.
The BA 210-V2 however will bring you certainty for every gig. Not only is it 450 watts, but it has a speaker extension possibility for when you need/want that bit extra.
O yeah, did I mention it is light?

Omg, that's great! I kinda forgot/lost sight that the specs changed for v2 ! All I've been seeing in my local classifieds are the v1s, but I can dig harder.
I'm in a unique trio with a cajon drummer, I find my 100 is enough for 95% of our gigs, so the 150w 115 should be plenty for now.
And the 115 and 210 v2s are only about 10 lbs heavier than their respective rumble v3 counterparts.... I can live with that.
My local shop only Carries fender and gk amps, so I might have to take a drive. I've got some thinking to do.....
