The Official EBS Club

I would not count on that, unless you are one of those people who claim they can hear the difference between a class A/B power amp and a class D. The HD350 (and the Gorm variant) have old-school "lead sled" class A/B power stages. The Reidmars are class D, much lighter and much cheaper (and made in China), but have pretty much the same pre-amp front end as the HD350. Indeed, the Reidmar 750 looks to have *exactly* the same front-end, including both the compressor and the Drive circuit, while the Reidmar 500 seems to have exactly the same front-end as my Drome - same as the HD350 minus the Drive circuit. They finally came out with a 2-ohm-compatible version of the 500, but as that's less power than my HD350, I'm holding out for the 2-ohm version of the 750.

The Reidmar and HD350 do not sound the same, neither in preamp, nor the power amp.

OK...I'll bite...

The ProLine/Fafner setup looks really overkill for a Ukulele. ;)
The Classic/Fafner looks VERY LOUD for anything...

Have you ever experienced a UBass. Deeper than any traditional bass guitar. Very hard to find a rig that'll handle it. I'm an endorser so EBS brings me rigs for out of town gigs. The only one that I've heard so far that'll handle the frequencies if my 1st gen Fafner coupled with an old 4x10 SWR Goliath II / Musicman Audiophile 2X12.
The lows from that thing are SICK!

My post was very much tongue in cheek...
I have actually played a U-bass once. Big, fat, rubbery tone and very hard to play (for me) with that super short scale.

Yes, a bit schizophrenic switching from the Stingrays to the UBass but I’m a schizophrenic kinda player :D
Something about that instrument really got under my skin and once I picked it up, that was it. Had trouble putting it down.
It’s amazing for techno and dub. Really fills that 50hz space if that’s what you need.

Wow, my friends. We've taken TB fandom of EBS gear to the century mark! New Official EBS Club Members since my last "official" update are:

Thanks for participating in the community, one and all.

I recently picked up this EBS Drome. If you look closely you will see that the Ozite covering was removed and the cabinet was covered with Duratex. Since this picture was taken, I have replaced the top handle with a new one purchased from EBS.
Congratulations, even though it wasn't cheap when I bought it new in France, 15 years ago, my Drome has proved to be my best bass amplification investment ever. Some people just can't stand "rat fur", and I guess a previous owner was one of them. This should logically make you club member #101.

Awesome. Thank you. This is actually my second EBS product. I purchased an HD350 head from Bass Northwest several years ago. Nice amp.

Hey guys. I have an EBS Reidmar that says it has 470w dynamic output with 4-8 Ohms. From what I understand, and what EBS has told me, it runs at 250w under an 8 Ohm load and 500 under a 4 ohm load. I usually run two Classicline 112s daisy chained in series. Each cab is an 8 ohm, 250w load which I understand in series puts a 4 ohm 500w load on the Reidmar. I'm currently looking at adding a Hartke XL 410 and a Hartke XL 115. They are both rated at 8 ohms, 400w for the 410 and 300w for the 115. If I run them in series I'm guessing the total impedance would be 4 ohms, but the watts would then be 700, correct? If so I'm guessing this would be ill advised with my current Reidmar head. Furthermore, I'm guessing it wouldn't be possible to run one cab, let's say only the 115 off of the Reidmar if it needs 300w at 8 ohms and my head only gives 250. Can anyone confirm or refute this for me? Thank you!

The Hartke pair would be a 4 ohm load, correct. You can not safely run more than 600W of power with them but that's fine because the Reidmar won't go that high anyway. The rated wattage of a cab is the max it is supposed to take so it is always better to have a bit of extra in the cab rather than a more powerful head and careful volume control.

Yes, also the Reidmar to the solo 300W Hartke is good as far as power ratings and impedance are concerned.

Thank you! Out of curiosity, do I have the series/parallel thing backwards or am I correct in that?

Hi everyone! I'm considering to get an EBS Neoline 112 to pair with my Aguilar TH350 (175W@8 ohms), in order to have a small, light, pro and hi quality cab to those situations when little space and moderates volumes are required.
I have 2 questions if anyone it's experienced with that pairing:
Does this head with this cab hold a hardrock band (think Aerosmith covers) in reduced spaces like small bar stages?
Does anyone know wich drivers is using the Neoline? I read somewhere here that these are Eminence Basslite, but don't know for sure. I need a little info or pics is anyone has to check the driver if buying used.

Thank you very much.

I have a pair of Neoline 212s, and they are definitely Eminence drivers, but not sure whether they are Basslite. This question came up about the Neoline 210 drivers, and the cabinet rating is higher than would could expect if they were using stock 10" Basslites.

I've got a buddy who runs an equipment rental business on the side, with a bunch of Aguilar and Mesa gear, and I've brought my EBS rig over for mix'n'match experiments. That rig should sound pretty fine for hard rock (though I would be frustrated by the volume limitation), but I expect you'll want to roll the treble back on the TH350.
