Thanx for the information!! It actually looks a bit like a Sandberg bridge (which I do not really like) but the Allen screws seem to be placed straight, where with the Sandberg bridge, the Allen screw for the string spacing is placed at an angle which costs me a new bridge.......

Someone else got one too with a nice burnt sienna color. I figure there have got to be a few folks with the humbucker configuration who could comment. I really can't tell a lot from Adrian's demos because he tends to play the same way and it's not music I'm interested in doing.

Can anybody give me an idea of what the "lipstick" pups sound like tonally?

I'm thinking about buying another Maruszczyk and I'm intrigued by the look at those pups but can't really find a good video that highlights their tone.

Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

There we are:

The story:

Pickups: Häeussel HC and MM. Humbucker is in the Stingray "sweet spot" (I measured my own SR4 and SR5), which is more towards the neck than the usual positioning.
Electronics: Delano Sonar 3 MS/E with a switch for humbucker parallel, series or SC.
The ebony inlay is an olive branche. There is also walnut veneer, but it's not well visible from this angle.
Pots are supposed to be ETS instead of domes and will be changed before shipment.

I made a deposit on February 5th. The order form Adrian eventually sent me dated 27th. It has been nearly 20 weeks from payment to build completion. I can advise to triple check if your specs are noted OK because this was not the case with my build. I found out because I asked. Adrian is very helpful, though (and veeeery busy).

I ordered the bass because I wanted a new 5 stringer that was better than my SR5 single H. I tried alot of basses beforehand in stores to find out what I wanted. Nothing quite compared to my SR5 in sound and playability. I only wished it was an HS (alnico, not ceramic) and a different colour than black. I informed about new prices for an SR5 HS in pacific blue burst (nothing comparable is ever available secondhand locally, also PBB is no longer available) and was quoted over 2800 euros. Yikes!!! I paid less for the Frog which is specified as I like (comparable to SR5 specs in neck, scale and string spacing) and with better ergonomics and aesthetics.

Lets hope it lives up to the hype :).

Häeussel HC - I can’t find that in the catalog. What is the HC?

I also can’t figure what is meant by SC.

HC is humcanceling. I think it's the abbreviation used by Public Peace in the configurator. I believe it's a side by side humbucker as mentioned in the Häeussel catalog. It's an option on the J pickup.

The switch for parallel/series/single coil tap is not a standard part of the Delano electronics and is available as a seperate option regardless of your choice of electronics (I believe).

I really like the gloss finish on this one. I don't think the matte would have done it justice.

How come every Frog has an "M" logo on the tuner assembly except mine?
