I have added a picture that hopefully can help.
I recall reading about this issue in some posts probably on this thread but I can't seem to find them for reference.
I am concerned whether this causes any issues with tuning or sustain or even with the string popping off the nut.

Many, many head designs result in the strings not being pulled straight through the nut. Look at Alembic 2+2 heads. If it works for them, I wouldn't be concerned.
Thanks for the confirmation. Do you have the 1/2" or the 3/8" tuning heads?
This does not appear in all their basses. Is it an issue only with the 1/2''?
Should be okay but the winding length on that B string is a bit too long. The string should transition from full-thickness > taper somewhere between the nut and tuner post.

My hunch is yes, this is just an issue with the larger ones. Mine is 3/8"

I'm coming back to tinker with the configurator from time to time, too... this is my latest creation:Whenever I check out the configurator I just have to play around with it. That's seriously dangerous for my wallet
However, I'm actually saving up to be able to afford one of these. Comes closest to my vision of a minimalist, passive 6 string Precision, even if the body shape is a J and the configurator needs you to have a bridge pickup (which is fine, I'm starting to appreciate them).
Not sure if the red & black color combination is hot or not.
My biggest problem with boutique basses is that in my gigging situations, it's all too easy to ding them up without wanting to, always being crammed into tight places and such (tight places = stages with not enough floor space for even the most basic pedalboard). I even have dings on my cheapo basses that puzzle me as to their origins. Theft or 'overkill' don't bother me.
Posted this on a NBD thread but was told Mensinger basses are welcome here as well. It's 32" scale leaf 5er, just arrived this week. Couldn't be happier with it.

What are the specs?
Mahogany Body, Redwood top, Maple Neck w/ Ebony Board. Delano humbuckers, passive wiring v/t/v/t and a series/parallel/single coil switch for each pickup.
Haven't weighed it but it's soooo light! If it weighs much more than 8lbs I'd be shocked. This is my second Mensinger and I'm sure I'll be ordering another or maybe even a Maruszczyk in the future.
Adrian's customer service is excellent and while I initially had some reservations about an international order, the process could not have been smoother. I live on the east coast of the U.S. and received the bass 3 days after it shipped.
You know, I don't think so. Here it is. It's a Joker B, 30in scale, Mahogany body, maple top, mahogany neck, ebony board, delano single coils, also passive. I also have to say, I have had delano's on 3 basses so far and have never heard a bad set.
