@DaveAceofBass this is a Haeussel DP5 if I recall.... you can find it in the humbucker selection in the configurator. BTW it sounds fantastic! Very mid oriented and warm... kinda vintage vibe
Cool. Wish I had the same warm fuzzies for my Hauessels. I really like the neck pickup in mine, but the special bridge pup is not exactly what I was hoping for. The one you have might have worked better!!!
@DaveAceofBass Actually both basses are loaded with Hauessels PUs. The green one (Delano preamp) is warmer while the red (Noll preamp) is more modern. Both sounds great but the green would be my first choice.
My SS Jake is around 7.5 pounds, configured like your plan only passive. I ordered the Hipshot ultralights.
Chambering the body would definitely help to bring the weight down. Tell Adrian what you are looking for and he will help you make your dream come true.

we built a 2,9 kilo medium scale for a customer. Chambered though. Not sure your goal is reachable without chambering but the boss will tell you.
Anyone would like to share experiences with type/brand of roundwounds strings on Maruszczyk Elwood basses? Also, does anyone know what strings are they using in their videos?
Or, what does sound good on these basses with Aguilar pups? I'm guessing I'll be sent back to my corner and told to try the strings on my own until I'm happy with the sound.
Oh, by the way, I was told today: 15 weeks to build it. Ohhh... Waiting begins.
In any way, hope to hear some good suggestions

Alas, it is the truth my friend!
I assume the basses in the videos are strung with Maruszczyk strings, no idea who makes them for Adrian.
My Elwood L currently wears Fender (!) strings, but it is a passive, medium scale 5-string with Delano pickups, so not really comparable.
I've got Aguilar pickups on my short scale Elwood......Any experiences with type/brand of roundwounds strings on Maruszczyk Elwood basses. Does anyone know what strings are they using in the videos?

Sounds great with the Maruszczyk flats that came on it.....
(Smoothest flats that I've ever used btw....They make TI Jazz flats feel like Rotosound rounds in comparison).....
I'm contemplating a short-scale Jake with a single Delano humbucker.
How's your short-scale Elwood? Is the body scaled down from a full-scale size? I Photoshopped a short-scale neck onto a full-sized body, and it looks very strange!

Haven't played a long scale bass for a long time now....
I was supposed to get the 40-60-80-100-125 set they offer on my bass but they must've missed that note and gave me 45-65-85-105-125. I didn't like them and had to get them off as quickly as possible. So....here's the situation....
Some time back, one of us had a Lion of Judah inlay done on the neck of his Frog....
I'm embarrassed to have to report that I can't, for the life of me, remember who it was!.....
He also gave me a link to the guy that did the inlay (Upstate NY)....which I put somewhere where I'd never lose it....
I've lost it.....
....
Can anyone help me out here?....
