they're absolutely great. However most seem to be "on the heavier side of things" due to material used.

Same goes for XOTIC , their bodies are bigger than most jazz and are usually made of ash.



XOTIC are great, sort of a real elegant upgraded Fender. Absolution are a bit of a more "high end" sound.

Disregard any of that if you're built like a bull and can handle 4,5 Kilo.

Ha. My main current bass is a Yamaha TRBJP2. I'm not the biggest guy but I'm more than capable of handling 4.5 kilo. That weight would be nothing in comparison.

I love the look of the absolution. I almost settled on the Mayones but I don't like that 24 frets seem standard and the space between the end of the fretboard and front pickup is small. In my opinion jazz basses should be 22 frets or fewer.

Pierre are you a local dealer in the US? I'm interested in knowing whats in stock on the maruszczyk website how much the street price is in US dollars - ballpark figure.

Any gig/rehearsal shots of your Maruszczyk's this long weekend? My Jake 5...this is my second Maruszczyk, had a headless frog that I sold last year. That was a solid bass but this one is just ...does it all! Delano pups and 2 band preamp on alder body...love it!

How long are people averaging on their orders? I'm still under the 12-15 week estimate on the FAQ, but starting to get excited. Also, for those in the U.S. that ordered through Adrian, how long did it take from your couch pic to your door?

Europe to USA is about 72 Hours Fedex to your door. Sometimes 48.

It's not impossible that customs ask questions and it's a bit longer. Had it a couple of times. Before any of you freak out with that thought , this could well happen if you ordered through a US dealer anyways. It's out of our control.

my last "issue" was USA customs asking if a bass contained mercury or an ink cartridge. lol ...

For you guys informations. It seems CITES have now agreed to the fact that musical instruments containing rosewood are authorised for international trading again. Yey! The only wood that's still very much on their list is brazilian rosewood.

Wow that is interesting information. I actually specifically skipped rosewood on the fingerboard so that I wouldn't get any extra hardship at customs. Not that I'm one to be married to any specific wood type, as long as it looks the way I want and sounds good :)

very recent update at last CITES meeting in Geneva from 1 or 2 weeks ago. We are still figuring it out. However as far as we understand from January Rosewood on musical instruments is again OK.

It's actually really good news for me because I usually bring something back from my Japan trips and this time was going to avoid anything that even looked like rosewood.

My basses were all in the 12-15 week range (in 2014 and 2016 respectively).

Have you revealed the object of your order to your fellow club members already? ;)

do double check before taking any decision lol :)

current build time is running at 12/18/20 weeks roughly. Over somewhere around 50 custom builds , only was "late" twice. Otherwise always on schedule and even quite a few times earlier.

I have not. My graphic is not 100% correct, as I have requested a bridge not in the configurator. This is inspired by another bass that a bass player I rather like used to play, with a couple of changes for my own sonic and aesthetic preferences. It will have a 2-band Noll preamp and the big pole delanos.
