Anyone here ever played the Mr Tee, tele-style bass?

I'm curious what the balance is like on these.

Some basses that have that shape end up having neck dive.

I own one, see avatar. Mine has a medium scale neck and Hipshot ultralight tuners, therefore basically no neck dive. The long scale version will have to follow the laws of physics.... Could be manageable though, but haven't tried one myself.

Once I get the tools I ordered online I'll try to fix these sharp fret ends myself, it does not hurt to learn that. It's a little risky to start off on a $2000 bass, but things can not get worse. And as the top wood already is ruined, I guess I could make it roadworn... I got me a lemon, and at least the GAS for more Maruszczyk basses is cured.

I actually managed to get rid of those sharp fret ends myself, as the fingerboard is ebony (you can do this with all non-laquered necks I guess, even without masking of any kind). I used 320 grit sandpaper on the side of a stomp-pedal to shorten the fret ends (with an angle). Then I just folded the sandpaper twice and rounded off the edges slightly, brushed the sandpaper gently over the fret ends from side to side and then took some steelwool (full of soap) and rubbed over the edges and neck (just go hard, it will not harm the neck). That really did the trick! Shockingly nice result, and far better than any other bass I have ever seen or tested. So I guess something good came out if this.

sure. To be precise , this has nothing to do with quality of said instrument. (Even more so if it was bought used?)

Ebony will react to environment like no other wood.

Obviously my opinion wouldn't be the same if this was a custom order received with frets sticking out.

Cracked top is a 1st though .... only ever seen that once or twice , and never on any bass by Adrian.

Congrats to him for offering to take care of it

It is a custom... I think the sofa-pic was 19. december 2019 (as seen on Facebook). Adrian told me that he has never seen a crack like that before. The top wood is dried for 5 years before he uses it in the basses, but as this is organic material you have no guarantee that something like that won't happen. I do not blame Adrian for that. Well, its just cosmetic, and as I got rid of the sharp fret ends the bass is fine.

I know dude , what I mean is you bought it used and we don't know how it was treated and where it was kept.

and yes , it's only wood , and wood will move. I've seen my share of stupid ***** but a cracked top is a 1st :-)
