Already thinking about ordering another 30" Cazpar with the Joker headstock in this configuration:
Swamp Ash / matte transparent black, Roasted maple neck with White Ebony fretboard, Delano extender pickups and Delano sonar 2 band pre. cant stay away from this dang configurator......:banghead:

Being new here (and waiting for my bass to arrive)....I wonder a bit about how the basses are made. Does Adrian have a team of luthiers? Are the bodies made somewhere for him,etc ? They are made in Poland? I would love to know some history of how these basses are made. When did he start making bass guitars?

Adrian is located near the Belgium border and the western edge of Germany. The Maruszczyk basses (and the Mensinger instruments) are made in Poland. I have never asked if there are two separate shops. The quality is top notch with the benefit of customizing many features on your order. I actually went on Google Earth to look at his location, and really, it is in the middle of nowhere, but there is a large showroom and recording studio there. Adrian is a monster player. I have ordered many basses now (with three more currently being built) and am about to order two or three more. The rule of thumb is to allow 4-5 months for the build, but I have had a few that have arrived in as little as 9 weeks.

@2ndBassGuitar already gave some basic info. As he pointed out, Adrian is a professional bass player. I believe what got him going with his brand was the creation of his signature bass, the first Frog ever built. For this instrument and his future projects, he teamed up with Mensinger Instruments in Poland, a reputable company with long lasting expertise and experience in instrument manufacturing. They also still make instruments under their own brand. I met Adrian a few years ago and he explained that the majority of instruments are now manufactured for the Maruszczyk brand. As the factory has been enlarged since, I assume that this is still the case and that Adrian's brand is becoming more and more successful. Not sure, but I believe he started the brand approx. 15 years ago.

His bass guitars are certainly beautiful creations and I can't wait to play my new one en route to me. I can't think of any other "high level" bass manufacturers that give you SO MANY options to customize. Sadowsky, Lakland, have limited choices even on a custom order. I was curious whether he has gone the route of imported bodies and necks from Asia but it doesn't seem so.

Nah, as far as I know, everything is built from scratch in Poland, including necks and bodies. The Mensinger/Maruszczyk workshop was extended a few years ago and they have the facility to build everything.

To be fair his business model is clever. It's most likely cheaper to get instruments built in Poland as workforce is cheaper than in Germany. Plus he has got polish roots so it helps to conduct his business. Only the showroom is in Germany.

Well, I certainly am impressed with the apparent workmanship. Of course I have not held one in my hands yet or played one...but he gets rave reviews and with all of the choices, you almost never see 2 of them that are alike. It is a bit scary for me to purchase a "more expensive" bass without ever holding or playing it. With that being said (more expensive) his basses still seem to deliver a lot of "bang for the buck"!

I find it mad that you can get a fully custom instrument for cheaper than an American made Fender (at least here in Europe). Tell me the name of another bass builder where you can choose all of this for that price:

-body wood
-neck and fretboard wood
-type of inlays
-fretboard radius
-body colour and finish
-hardware colour
-number of strings
-nut colour
-type of logo and its colour
-type of hardware
-preamp
-type of pickups + brand
-string spacing
-scale length
-number of frets

there is literally millions of combinations. I'm 100% positive that there's not a single Maruszczyk out there that is 100% identical to mine. And that's just awesome. Plus it's really well built for the money.
