I thought about that also but I think they will be close to the same size as these clover tuners on this short scale Ernie Ball musicman I use to have and they looked pretty good
New bass came in a few days ago. Ordered Feb 10 and it delivered May 6.
Main Specs:
Elwood L 5 String— 32" Medium Scale
17mm spacing
Alder body - Rosewood Fingerboard - Caramel Roasted Matte Neck
Charcoal Frost Metallic
Nordstrand Zen Blade Pickups with Parallel/Series/Single Coil Switches
John East Preamp with 18V operation
HipShot hardware with Xtender on the B string
I ordered from South Shore Music here in the USA. They were great handling all of the correspondence.
The bass will need to be slightly tweaked setup wise due to all of the travel and weather changes (Germany>Massachusetts>Georgia). But I always let my instruments settle in to the climate before making any drastic changes.
Loving the bass so far. This one sounds bigger than the Lakland 5 it is replacing. And it's 3" shorter!
That's a sweet bass. SS is my local store and Peter and the crew know what they're doing.
Adrian got back to me this morning and said no problem to add the Hipshot Lolipop Ultralites to the Elwood L short scale build. I am placing my order tomorrow with a USA dealer if he can save me a few $$. I made a mock-up of how it will look with the Lolipop tuners...I Like it!

So I've never tried a Maruszczyk but I'm very interested in ordering one. My main concern is the neck profile and possibly not liking it. Can anyone describe the neck profile and compare it to other known brands?
I currently own a Kiesel and really like their standard neck profile and thickness. If anyone owns a Kiesel and compare the two that will be awesome!

Wow, that looks awesome! Before I bought my elwood 5 30" from the in stock page, I made several versions in the configurator and I'm pretty sure I made this exact bass but in 30".
I owned a PB4 and PB5, and now own a 30" elwood 5. The scale length likely changes the neck profile, but to me the Kiesels seemed shallower front to back. The elwood seems a little deeper, but in a very comfortable way. Kind of like it fills up your whole hand but doesn't feel bulky. The elwood feels more rounded as well, whereas the Kiesels had sharper edges. Not in an unfinished way, but just very angular. The Elwood feels closer to the fender American Pro P bass I had, a super comfortable neck. I also have smaller hands FYI.
Interesting that you mention that because I do enjoy a good thick P bass neck as well. I have medium-large hands and while my Kiesel is comfortable, I think I could benefit from something a bit thicker and deeper.
I would imagine shorter necks produce thicker necks to compensate right? So the 30" scale would be thicker than a 35" one?

Couch picture! I ordered this 2/25 and got the couch pic today. I asked them not to attach the pick guard as I want to see it in the flesh with and without before deciding.

That's whom I order mine with back in March. He actually reached out to me when I was asking questions regarding a Kiesel build on a FB forum. I would never had known about these gorgeous basses if it hadn't been for him.
Very classy, Congrats! I like it without the pickguard... My 2 Cazpar basses made it to Las Vegas in exactly one week from when Adrian shipped them out and he shipped it out a day or two after my couch pic
