Hey guys. I just got my first Maruszczyk and I'm completely hook. I toiled over the details of this bass and it's everything I dreamed it would be.

I'm already starting to plan a 5 string build and I need some help. I'm looking at going with either the bass culture pickups or the Haeussel bass bars or jazzbuckers. Which do you prefer and why? With the Haeussel pickups is there going to be a major difference between the bass bars and the jazz buckers. I can't really find anyone that does an in depth comparison of the tone. All the Maruszczyk site says is the the jazzbucker have an "original jazz bass" winding. Does anyone have experience with these pickups or have any recommendations? I will say that currently my favorite pickups are Aguilars. I have AG70s and the HCs and while I prefer the HCs, the 70s sound great too but the hum can be annoying.

It makes sense,

Hadn't heard of Moollon before. Beautiful looking instruments.
Definitely opposite end of the spectrum from Maruszczyk in what they are but that was supposed to be my 40th bday present, just running a little late. I'm so excited for my Elwood L medium scale though, so it'll be a great summer of basses!

Nope, my ears work better than an ohmmeter to the output jack! ;-)

Do you have a lot of gain or effects?

I have owned a few guitars and basses with series, parallel, and split wiring options. The volume difference between series and parallel was audible on all but my Ibanez. The Ibanez only had a slight volume difference and decreased mids.

The only thing I'd wonder is if they got the wiring mixed up and you're really getting series instead of parallel.

Anyone have custom orders almost complete or shipping yet? I'm 8 weeks into my Elwood L short scale order and getting more anxious to get that couch pic soon I hope :wacky:

I orderded a Frog 6 end of February, but I had some specific wishes requiring non-standard parts. I expect the bass to be done any time now, given the final part arrived at the workshop last week. You can expect a review and a comparison with a Frog 5 headless once I receive it. The Frog 5, three years ago, took a similar time to be built.
