@Grueber ...I've started fiddling with another ramp idea for my Mayones… I'm using a 3-ply approach with Purpleheart wood.

What made you decide to do what with Purpleheart instead of something like wenge (or whatever that brown wood is in the middle of your bass?

The concept is not the sort of thing I'd want on my bass, but the workmanship and execution are brilliant.

If you don't mind me asking, how heavy is that bass?

I really want build one for my new Paddock fretless once it arrives, but can't do that until it is in hand… and this is a follow up to the earlier conversation about 3D printing a ramp as I'd like to do one in wood.

Just a prototype at this point, I had the Purpleheart here and couldn't easily find Padauk or Wenge in similar thin pieces locally so may have to order some if I keep one on this bass… or I suppose I could just use a piece of veneer. The new version of this bass actually uses Purpleheart instead of Padauk so figured I'd try that and from experience in working with Purpleheart it usually turns a bit brown when working with it.

That bass is right at 10lb, but pretty comfortable with the radiused back.

Okay, folks, I don't know where to go, so I'll start here. I've been poking around Adrian's site a whole lot and playing with the configurator. He's also got a number of nice basses already made. My question to the North America players is what is the (ballpark) additional cost over the website list price to get it to the USA? I assume there is an import tax/tariff, and shipping is pretty crazy these days. So what should I "add" to the list price when I'm looking at these basses on the website? And are there clever ways to keep those costs low (NA dealers, etc)?

If you connect with a dealer, they can give you that total info. I worked with Randy at Bass Spotlight and my total cost included shipping, customs, etc. and it was cheaper than the configurator pricing.

I ordered through the website a couple of weeks ago. Shipping to US was 100 euros and the configurator price was discounted at checkout.

Does anyone know what the body sizing is like on medium scale (32") Elwoods?

I've got a 30", and the body is very compact. I find it much more comfortable than I was expecting, and aesthetically I don't think it loses anything against a 34" Elwood's body.

I'm in the beginning stages of considering a 32" Elwood for down tuned songs, and I was just curious if they used the downsized or full-sized body, or if there's an in-between they use for medium scale? It looks like the larger body, but hard to tell in photos.

It was a while back, but getting mine through FretSpot was a little less than the configurator. The billing was bottom line to my door, so I don't know what taxes or shipping there was.

It looks the same as the full size one. However, the horn on the treble string side looks a little different.

Sure. Adrian gave me this picture when I inquired about the difference in body size.

Our member @TK4261 has one.

Very nice! I have trans Turquoise on a recent swamp Ash Elwood build in gloss and it does seem to come out a bit darker in real life it seems. The config pic of mine was quite a bit lighter. not sure about the quilted Maple but still should come out a little darker i would think.

NBD almost !...Just got my couch photo of the JOKER 5 string 32" scale that I ordered in November. I ordered with the Delano 4 coil pickups. The unusual feature of these pickups that I requested Adrian get for me, is that you can wire the coils like a P pickup as well as the single coil and humbucker. I am hoping for a "swiss army" bass.

I know what you mean, I've barely put my shortie Elwood down. It helped that once it arrived, I had 5 band practices and a gig within two weeks (the most in such a short period in years), but it plays like an absolute dream.
